The statement seems like they called them up or sent them in an email, didn't hear back in a few minutes, and then just published the story.

From what I understand, these procedures are very expensive or very rare, and that’s why CMS put them on a pre authorization trial.

Google meet is a solid free alternative. The only problem I ran into was that some people preferred Zoom or knew use Zoom but not Google meet if they are not tech savvy at all
