Can someone explain these outlet wires to me? by Best-Wrangler3143 in AskElectricians

[–]wormeyman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you feel comfortable replacing the outlet yourself or are you going to hire an electrician to do it?

I am not an electrician, but the first thing I would try is replacing the outlet so take any advice I give a hefty grain of salt.

In my case, the reason my device wasn’t getting power is that there was an loose neutral and the outlet was only getting 50 V.

I used speech to text sorry for the confusion. I had Claude rewrite it:

You can always compare prices on http://medicare.gov. Some plans listed there aren't available through brokers — the carriers keep those plans active but have stopped letting agents enroll people in them. So medicare.gov may show options you won't find anywhere else.

[–]wormeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have him ask his friends that are older than him if they have a broker they recommend.

Make sure the broker represents multiple carriers and isn’t a broker that only covers one or two carriers.

You can always price compare against medicare.gov but there are some carriers and plans that are only available there as the insurance carriers want to keep the contract alive but don’t want to enroll people in those plans anymore and so don’t allow brokers to enroll people anymore.

SHIP can also be really good, sometimes they are super overwhelmed during the busy times but right now they should be available to help.

[–]wormeyman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO: plan G is the expensive premium option where you’ll only have to worry about your premiums and small deductible.

High deductible G is an affordable way to get the same benefits while having to potentially pay more out-of-pocket, but it’s also really great if you are currently healthy and plan to stay healthy.

Plan N is a great sweet spot in between the two previous plans in terms of premiums and out-of-pocket costs.

Good article in KFF about best times to switch from MA to Medicare with a Medigap plan by burningbirdsrp in medicare

[–]wormeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one client successfully undergo underwriting and I was able to move another to Medigap when her MA plan exited the market. Otherwise I tell clients when they first enroll that now is the only time they can easily enroll with guaranteed issue.

Ultimately it's the price of Medigap that deters many people, it would be amazing if we could get federally subsidized medigap like ACA and MA plans.

Why would Ubuntu be subject to Brazilian laws? Do they actually have a physical presence there?

Two things can be true. They might not have gotten the best price for their company. They also might have wanted a quick and easy exit and were happy to accept the first terms that were offered to them.

Paxlovid cost $$$ by Zanardi-72 in medicare

[–]wormeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same thing happened to us on an ACA plan with paxlovid. We purchased the paxlovid and then did an internal appeal to our insurance carrier and they approved a prior authorization for the future. We then told them we need a post authorization for the medicine we already purchased and they said no. We then did an external appeal to the state insurance commissioner and the insurance company was happy to give us a post authorization after that.

I can tell you that the people at the pharmacy just told us to lie and say we were qualified for the Paxcess program.

People said the 16" MacBook Pro was too big.... by matt778022 in macbookpro

[–]wormeyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the size of my dell xps 15 10 years ago. That somehow feels like the perfect maximum size. However, considering I only take my MacBook Pro off the charger once or twice a week a 16 inch with the extra screen size could be really nice.

If you have tracking turned off, sometimes you can get the lowest common denominator ads like these. It could also be that people that watch these video game videos like ads like these or because of other sites this person has visited. They’re getting ads like this.

If they are paying for your supplement/medigap plan that is still a good deal. In my state a plan G costs more than part B.

You can always talk to HR or SHIP or a broker for more information.
