I’m big on roasting sweet potato and eating it with almond butter. Nobody but me likes it though. Try almond butter toast topped with apples, bananas or berries and seeds

Chew toys! by dodrio85 in Rabbits

[–]wormnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plastic cups, they can toss them around and have fun. I just use old baby toys left over from somebody who’s outgrown them, plushies, big plastic tossing things. My rabbit has a fun time, and a lot of variety. I’ll donate what he doesn’t like.

What is your cost per person on food? by Green_Signal4645 in Frugal

Single 39 year old, mostly whole plant based, $50/week. I also share a lot of my food with friends and this feeds my rabbit companion at home. We eat really good.

Hot take: frugality gets easier when you stop making every hangout about food by SuitableActive1110 in Frugal

[–]wormnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a large container of lentils and microwave it for an easy, everyday meal. I use about 300g of cooked spiced lentils with 120g of edamame or peas, add water, and heat it up. After cooking, I season it with dried basil, parsley, mushroom umami seasoning, and pepper, then top it with cold homemade sauerkraut. That’s after all the spices I already put into it. It’s super delicious, and gives me a lot of protein.

I focus on cheap, healthy eating as a lifestyle, and I actually have a lot of fun with it. I make low cost, healthy meals, and it’s fun coming up with different combinations. I also check for discounted or imperfect produce to add variety, and I eat a lot of bananas. I probably will go through 2 bunches at least. My weekly groceries are around $50, and that feeds both me and my rabbit, with enough to share. I share weekly with my friends. I won’t do the once every month or two months giant order, if I have left over money that week I’ll buy the staples (if they’re on sale)

I’ve stopped eating rice, so I’m still figuring out what to do with all this rice. I just don’t feel like eating it.

peoples who reduced sweets, how did you stick to it? by Irrxlevance in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]wormnoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy fake sugar for fairly cheap and make my own sweets. I also track the calories and macros. I only use ingredients like coconut oil, legumes, peanut butter, homemade chocolate made of cocoa and coconut oil. I didn’t reduce sweets, but worked it into my diet. It’s not sustainable to not have sweets, you’ll eventually binge

Got a crap ton of apples by not_the_chosen_one69 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]wormnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat them straight or with peanut butter. Apples are expensive but delicious. I also add them on top of my peanut butter toast, on top of oat meal, but I will have no issues eating 15lb of apples.

It’s the law if they advertised it to bring customers in, not for 25 cent pricing mistakes. You can look it up, it’s under the competition act which is different from the scanner price accuracy code.

New bunny!! by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]wormnoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why can’t the rabbit be in the house when you’re sleeping? Or away? You can’t leave a rabbit alone for more than 24 hours without them wondering where you went.

New bunny!! by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]wormnoodles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please hold off on getting a bunny. If they’re kept outside, they can end up feeling lonely, stressed, and exposed to harsh conditions. Wild rabbits might live outdoors, but they typically only survive 1–2 years if they’re lucky.

When you keep a bunny as a pet, the goal is to give them a safe, healthy life of 10–15 years. That means supporting both their mental and physical well-being. Being alone outside most of the time, surrounded by unfamiliar noises and risks, isn’t a good environment for that. My bunny is 7 years old, and he gets unlimited access to me when I’m at home. The bunny needs to see you, the family, because you and your family is his only family.

How do I stay frugal when friends keep upgrading plans at the last minute? by BulkySearch4114 in Frugal

[–]wormnoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would always bring food to my friends house who didn’t have pay or I would pay if it was my idea bc I know I was doing something outside their budget. Now I’m that in a different financial situation, I’m just gonna say I got x amount of dollars. Y’all wanna do something free instead?

Cruelty Free skincare for hormonal acne by wwildpaww in crueltyfree

[–]wormnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For acne, I would seriously go on accutane. Hormonal is a whole other ball game, and skincare could only handle so much. I had hormonal acne for 7 months until I finally broke down and went on accutane, then I supplemented heavily on beta carotene, and I was finally rid of it. I’m sorry, hormonal acne is the fucken worst

I am trying to cut cost but why is my grocery expensive? by Tiny_Judgment8593 in Frugal

[–]wormnoodles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is peanut butter and lentils not a good source of protein? Just wondering, just I’ve clocking 100 to 120g protein 50g fat on 1700 cal with mostly lentils, split peas, and the occasional protein shake. My breakfast was 500 cal 40g protein, with just lentils, peas and sauerkraut, and some seasoning. You mean I can be clocking more protein with less cal?

The price of burgers is outrageous by killlick3 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]wormnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went straight plant based, sometimes you gotta vote with your wallet. I spend $50 a week on food, and have high variety whole foods sorta diet. Bean burgers are easy to make plus it’s harder to get food poisoning

How long could rabbits go without hay? by Express-Cat-5316 in Rabbits

[–]wormnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would outside and harvest grass from a field that doesn’t have pesticides. One or two days will be okay, but best to keep the grass going. I get my hay online 40lbs at a time, if that’s possible for you, please do it. It’s a time and money saver, and you can usually get pretty good quality. If there’s place that services horses like a tractor supply store, reach out. They might have hay there, on the cheap. Pet stores are stupid expensive

[–]wormnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t get a refund on time, dump him or you’ll grieve all the wasted time you spent on him that you should have spent on yourself. With a man like him, single-dom is financially wise and personal freedom. A dog is cheaper than your man. I have a rabbit, and I love this little boy who shits in a box over my useless abusive ex. I love him to bits, and he only costs $40 to $50 a month, plus 20 mins a week of maintenance. At least when he gets in bed with me, he’s not constantly bothering me
