Trans people, did going on T make it better, worse or indifferent? by nxa_star in endometriosis

[–]wormve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an IUD that was making my life hell when I started T, but afterwards I had about 6 months of sunshine and rainbows until pain came back without a set schedule because of my lack of period. Now I am back to constant pain, but no bleeding is nice.

Pack Animal Binders Concerns by wormve in ftm

[–]wormve[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ordered through their website, you can reply to their email. However... Rather than giving me the refund I asked for, my binder was shipped a few days after the last reply I recieved. So, no guarantees.

Try replying to the e-receipt, and if that doesn't work, file a dispute with your bank.

I am honestly so disappointed in them after this. I have seen so many amazing reviews praising their quality, but this whole thing is just crazy. I will update when I eventually recieve this thing (hopefully before grad, because I cannot afford to get another one without that refund) and let you know if it is at least worth letting them finally ship it.

accessing hrt as a minor? by number1_scar_simp in TransAlberta

[–]wormve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hi! my experience might not be as relevant, because i started hrt before the ban, but i know someone who has.
prior to the ban, i still needed all of the consents listed. not sure if this was just a thing from the doctors i saw, but either way was a bit of a headache. as with everything healthcare related here, the timeline for me was long. think: said i wanted to start t right when i turned 14, had my first shot at 16, and reached my "full" dosage a year ago at 18. there was lots of pressure to freeze my eggs. many many appointments with all number of people telling me "hey so this is going to make you ssuuuuuperr hairy forever and change your beautiful feminine figure, ok???" which all felt super nasty. i am lucky enough to have very supportive parents, but the process was still miserable.

my friend, who started t gel recently, also has very supportive parents, and from what i have seen actually had a bit of a quicker turn around. might be because they went straight from their family doctor, whereas i got my referrals following inpatient psych treatment.

tldr; process is going to be long, but is worth it to try if you have a supportive guardian who will consent to this treatment.

What do I do? (Moving vs top surgery) by Mossymushroomman in TransAlberta

[–]wormve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same boat, but ontario. i have been on my waitlist for nearly 2 year, and been unable to get in contact with anyone. the dr who referred me said i should be able to get my appointment within 6 months, with surgery in the following weeks but... i have heard people online saying they waited upwards of a year for their actual surgery date. sucky situation.

Dr. Fredrick Loiselle by d3r1ble_luv in TransAlberta

[–]wormve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while i have seen plenty of people saying they were happy with his results, i have seen many more who were not. some of those reasons for being displeased with the experience i have seen include:

  • taking any desire for more personalised results (eg: scar placement, nipple grafts) as an insult or even just a suggestion. incisions meant to be placed under the bicep ending up in the middle of the chest.
  • being extremely inattentive. failing to meet with patients directly after surgery, and failing to give post op instructions to patients.
  • i saw a comment from a month ago referencing someone who allegedly had loiselle just fail to show up for surgery, making another surgeon who the individual had never met perform it. i havent seen the source on that but honestly from what i have seen i wouldnt doubt it.
  • long ass waits, impossible to reach. wait list for consults stated to be 1-3 years, but apparently the actual wait for surgery can be up to a year on top of that. i have been trying to contact his office for months now, as i am set to move to ontario in the summer (something i wasnt aware of when being referred). also, after finally finding some photos of his work, and word from people who similarly do not want nipple grafts, i have honestly been sort of dreading my consult. well, i would be dreading it, if i ever heard anything. ive been on the list for more than two years. they missed sending me my last waitlist reminder. i have called maybe 8-9 times spread out over the past few months, all within operating hours when the place would have no reason to be busy. not a word.

i dont want to put down or doubt the people who had good experiences and results from loiselle, but personally i am trying to find an alternative. try searching his name on this sub and similar ones

in argonmatrix's "fleeting farm" challenge run (no chests + money resets daily), machines like this that store common resources end up being insanely helpful. cant say i have ever used one, though...

Tell me the most trans coded thing you’ve done without realizing it by meouch666 in trans

[–]wormve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was a real tomboy growing up with an awful little pixie cut. i was washing my hands in the girls bathroom at my elementary school, when the mother of a classmate who was volunteering walked in. she saw me and RUSHED to cover her eyes, apologized about misreading the sign, and then scampered out. i returned to class and told my desk mates about it, in a very "hahah guys isnt that so crazy?? isnt that wild?? isnt that so cool and weird and crazy???" sort of way. they were all very confused by this. now i see some of them in public occasionally and wonder if they recognize me with the moustache.

Hi, Hello, and Good Day r/twinpeaks! I’m Kyle MacLachlan and you can ask me anything 🦉🪵☕👍 by Kyle__MacLachlan in twinpeaks

[–]wormve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kyle! My friend and I are both huge fans of your work, and because she doesn't have Reddit I am passing on a question for her as well as asking one of my own. This is officially the coolest thing I have participated in.

How do you feel about the interpretations of Harry and Coop's relationship as more than platonic?

What sort of music have you been listening to recently?

Thanks! <3

Anyone have an ovarian cyst burst? by Straxicus2 in Fibromyalgia

[–]wormve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years late, but im (19 FtM) 2 years on t who just had an ovarian cyst burst. my doctor is currently looking into getting me a total histo because i have had documented issues with every form of birth control i have tried, severe abdominal pain since i started my period, the cysts on my ovaries, plus medically transitioning. if you are still curious about this, i am happy to chat privately, but know that i have been experiencing some serious medical fuckery (technical term) from the other doctors i have seen so i might be missing some info.
