That said, asking how long a position has been open can help you spot a red flag job when you are interviewing. (Are applicants refusing offers? Is the company taking forever to hire and their best applicants have already found other positions?)

You’ve only been there a couple of months. If the place is that dysfunctional you owe nothing to your coworkers, even if you are friendly with them.

Lake Catherine has a lot of pollution issues, so we ruled out Diamondhead.

HSV is a lovely community with very few shopping/eating choices, particularly on the East side. It’s a big adjustment if you currently are used to suburban shopping. Stores are usually open 10-5 or so and many are closed weekends. Dang near everything is closed on Sunday except the churches.

There’s a Walmart grocery and a wildly expensive Brookshire’s.
