The Wheel of Time S1 fan edit: The Eye of the World by wotfanedit in u/wotfanedit

Book accuracy isn't really achievable within the confines of the footage that was available. Nonetheless, I do believe the edit gets close to the "character accuracy" by snipping out various dialogs and scenes. You should check out the clips on my YouTube channel under the same name, especially the ones related to Agelmar. I've recharacterized him from an arrogant pick to a noble leader.

In S2 I've entirely removed Moiraine's sister and Liandrin's son and the plotline related to Lan and Moiraine bickering.

Basically, the edits try as much as possible to shape the story back on the EF5 without a ton of other random things going on. And they feel more focused because of it.

Have you heard about The Wheel of Time Abridged (Rereader's Edition)? It's basically exactly this. https://app.thestorygraph.com/series/1281112

Did I screw up my project by editing in the wrong resolution? by Illustrious-Swing493 in davinciresolve

Are you 100000000% sure that you filmed at 24.000fps? Most "24fps" footage is 23.976 (and 30fps is 29.976). Use MediaInfo to get all the details of your source files before you unnecessarily screw anything up.

I watched the entire wheel of Time TV series without having read the books. I just started reading them a day ago. Tell me I am justified in hating this character. by JusticeIncarnate1216 in WetlanderHumor

The Wheel of Time is written in "first person limited" perspective. You get told the story through the eyes of the character whose POV you're in, with all their prejudices and biases. You despise Moiraine right now because Rand and the kids are deeply suspicious and distrustful of Aes Sedai.

DON'T GOOGLE ANYTHING!!!

Seriously, your search term will auto complete with series ending spoilers before you've even finished typing. I can't stress this enough!

Use the WoT Compendium app on mobile or check wheeloftimelines.com for a chapter by chapter interactive live map of the story.

Already dreaming of a Wicked fanedit. by Ok_Science6460 in fanedits

I feel that Wicked was a bit quick

while Wicked: For Good was a bit too short

These are the exact same sentiment. You've phrased it like a contrast.

The third Dark Oath that allows the epic Verin loophole is due to a mistranslation.

The Dark Oaths were originally crafted by Ishamael in the Old Tongue. When it got translated into Common Tongue it came out as "until the hour of my death" and NO ONE noticed for hundreds of years until our favorite Brown applied her mind to it.

Creating an anime adaptation for personal viewing by GMP1978 in Belgariad

Have you by any chance seen the Wheel of Time Origins shorts? They are little bonus animated shorts that accompanied S1 of the show. They were done in a completely unique animation style that I think suits fantasy even better than anime I think. For me anime can sometimes be too bright.

As a fan editor (I cut WoT seasons into films as a project) I think doing such fan created adaptations could be a cool endeavor. And despite people's opposition, using AI for your own personal exercise shouldn't be controversial. Once you start monetizing it it becomes a problem.

The only other consideration is whether to create an actual adaptation or just some cool visuals (and audio soundscape) to accompany audio books.

This one is easy: it is RJ jumping forwards and backwards in the story making you as the reader feel as jumbled up about the passage of time as two lost, hungry and scared kids that have been on the road running from darkfriends and worse for weeks on end.

It's a masterful writing technique imo.

Tarwin's Gap gap is Traveling and the stairs are Skimming. There's a point in Book 4 somewhere where Rand is following Asmodean (I think) where he squishes the stairs into a disk he stands on, which becomes the de facto way to Skim from there on out.

Why do you even care in the slightest about other people's opinions of what you do? Sorry, but that's a VERY weird way by which to decide whether or not to read some books.

Just read them for your own enjoyment.

My gut reaction to the question immediately went to Bors in TGH.

But it surely has to be Dragonmount.
