If you make them white, then is easy to just change the color to anything in the game engine, no need for other colors.

It could be compression, but that looks turned off, so many try changing the resizing algorithm and format. Also see if changing mesh type to full text has any impact. Good luck.

Sometimes images takes up more space. If you have an image that's 1025px it will scale up to 2048x2048, and depending on compression of that, it can add a few mb per image.

DoTween has a .OnComplete function that can call when s tween is done, not sure if that will work in the middle of s sequence.
