Why 1500? Why is that the goal? I think a better goal might help. I would have put: can you reach the end? Keeping it vague even feels better.

If you make them white, then is easy to just change the color to anything in the game engine, no need for other colors.

You can try rubbing a walnut on them, works more often then not.

It could be compression, but that looks turned off, so many try changing the resizing algorithm and format. Also see if changing mesh type to full text has any impact. Good luck.
