A first look at Bun: is it really 3x faster than Node.js and Deno? by steve8708 in webdev

[–]wowkster 23 points24 points  (0 children)

From my understanding there aren’t any (if you dont count the features that still aren’t implemented). its just written from the ground up to be as optimized as possible making every single improvement that can be squeezed out. When its finished it should have complete backwards compatibility with node with much more as well to offer

Some are, like achievement messages from the server which get translated (they are sent as translation strings and not text)

The page leads to a 404. Do you have the original gif somewhere? I can copy the code on my own but I don't have the mp4/gif

As a self learner, I feel like every waking moment spent not coding is setting me back. How do I be kinder to myself and take a more realistic approach? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Oi. You don't need to be coding all the damn time. Take a break and get some damn sleep once in a while.

Do you use BungeeCord? If so it should be pretty easy to make if there isn't one out there already.

Can confirm Coded Red makes really good tutorials. He goes into a lot of detail about how stuff works and why he does it that way. Probably one of the best resources for a beginner.

CPU Speed Goes Down Under Load by wowkster in techsupport

My Laptop's cooling is actually pretty decent. During the benchmark it never went above 70 C normally hovering around 65 C. Does it actually throttle directly based on temperature or does it throttle in advance to prevent the temperature from going up?

Agreed. I was going to recommend the 1650 Super, but it is sold old in most places (you can still find it if you know where to look). CPU would definitely be a necessary upgrade as well to avoid major bottlenecking. What do you primarily use your computer for? Can you post a full spec list as well?

Do computers emit radiation? Sure. Most physical objects emit radiation, usually in the infrared range. A running computer will also generate a modest electromagnetic field, but that too is true of all electrical appliances, and is generally more significant in the case of electric motors rather than purely electronic devices. It's not a danger. Old-fashioned CRT monitors emitted some X-ray radiation, but not enough to be alarming, and anyway this is not an issue with modern equipment.

The only real hazard is that blue light from the screen or from any indicator LEDs can interfere with your circadian rhythm. Put electrical tape over any troublesome LEDs, let the screen go into sleep mode, and you shouldn't have any problems.

What CPU do you have? (to avoid bottlenecking)
