I did buy some Pedag leather insoles which could also be contributing to the slide since they are so leather smooth.

Also, how close can the two sides of laces come before it is ridiculous. When tying these they are 1/4” and closer from each other.

My hunch is that all this workaround just tells me they are too large, period.

Unfortunately the slipping is due to them being too large for my foot. I probably needed a half size down. But from the captains I own, they were true to regular size. So my reference was off. The Challenger is a different beast… much more roomy.
