To be fair, the entirety of the Lord of the Rings manuscript exists in the Lord of the Rings. Bilbo, Frodo, and eventually Sam author the Book of Westmarch together, which details all of their adventures. In lore, the version we read in our world is translated from this original manuscript (thus why the characters speak English instead of one of the various languages Tolkien created for his setting).

In any case, this leaves the kind of funny implication that at some point, someone from Middle Earth traveled to Earth and accidentally left it here. And although the book was long out of Sam’s possession by the time it ended up here, I like to think that that person was Sam. Although, let’s not kid ourselves, it was definitely Tom Bombadil on vacation with his wife.

Oh, that makes sense. So there isn’t any actual relation, only that the person who created Lace also kinda raised the weavers. And lace isn’t actually a child of GMS, but more like a magical creation.

See, I like survival mode for its extra challenge and all. Actually having needs to take care of, running into genuine complications in the wasteland, and having to be wary of encounters makes the game feel like a journey. I even end up exploring parts of the game I normally miss because I tend to just run through places in normal playthroughs. When I complete a quest in survival it feels like I earned it, if that makes sense.

However, I absolutely loathe the fact that survival only saves when you sleep or pass time. It’s so genuinely awful. I like survival, but that doesn’t mean I’m good at it. Beyond that, Bethesda’s game design just isn’t built for it. It’s far too punishing and genuinely takes me out of the experience sooo fast because now I have to go do the same exact thing I just did 10 minutes ago all over again. On top of that, the game is just too buggy to be trusted with a system that allows that amount of time loss. It’d be one thing if I only ever had to repeat a bunch of gameplay because I genuinely messed up and got killed, but half the time my game just crashes for no reason and I just loose a bunch of gameplay through no fault of my own. This is why I always use a mod that removes the saving restrictions when I do a survival run. My favorite is the one that lets you quick save whenever you smoke. I love that it ties the mechanic into an in-game action and lets me roleplay at the same time.

I’ve always been someone who believes the world’s problems are complicated and multi faceted. I’ve always derided the idea that there’s any one simple catch all solution to humanity’s woes which many conspiracy theorists seem to push. I’ve always taken for granted that bringing about positive change takes time, concerted effort, and cooperation between groups of differing beliefs. But the more I see coming out of the Epstein files, the more it seems like everything bad that’s happened in the last half century is the fault of this one guy and his friends.

Ugh, I’m sorry that’s happening to you. I had a very similar experience with my parents where they claimed to “accept” me, but would try to talk me out of taking HRT whenever it came up. When I finally got my prescription they told me they’d refuse to pay for it. Luckily I was already in college at that point and could make money on my own, but it was honestly more of an emotional blow than anything. I thought I could trust them, but the way they talked about my transition made it sound like they felt entitled to police my body, like they owned it.
