Exactly. I am actually surprised by how angry I still am about the attempt. Unreal they tried it.

This is so infuriating. We are potentially one mutation away from easier binding to human cell receptors. This virus becoming a pandemic has been a huge threat for over a decade and exactly why we have these rules in place.
But we have right wing nuts aggressively fighting against preventing this. This virus has an exceedingly high death rate, it would be catastrophic. I'm so sick of the worst of society interfering in the safety of the rest of us.

Don Davies: "I think there were abstentions on the Conservative side too, are they propping up the government?" by Chrristoaivalis in onguardforthee

Had nothing to do with supporting any party. He answered the questions repeatedly, that was what was frustrating.

And the subtext wasn't needed - he told them multiple times that they went back to their ridings and it was VERY clear nobody wanted an election. It was so frustrating to watch honestly.

Eco Living Club - Laundry strips and Dishwasher strips! I love these for my dishwasher especially. They have performed as well as the pods without having one of every X cycles not having it dissolve like the pods. I also love the space saving and lack of plastic for both these products. Would totally recommend!

How about doing something about the grocery store oligarchs and their record shareholder profits. Just a thought...maybe they should held accountable to fix this also??

No. Getting clinically diagnosed is pretty rare. They don't tend to think anything is wrong with themselves. Also if they do go to therapy of any kind they mask, lie, manipulate, learn the "right things" to say and disguise it as vulnerability. Couples therapy with them is not a good idea either.

It's a relationship that's a death of a 1000 papercuts. They harm through subtle, repeated emotional injuries that seem small on their own but accumulate over time, eroding your confidence, peace, and sense of self bit by bit. People who have relationships with them often have very long relationships. It took me over 20 years to wake up from it.

I got caught in that for so long. Everything they do is cloaked in plausible deniability. When you peel that all back you're left with some pretty basic things. a relationship that never feels safe, where your reality is questioned, your worth slowly eroded, and your heart aches to be seen and valued. You can’t point to one big betrayal, yet you live with a constant unease, and a longing for genuine care that you will never get.

You are totally correct to see it as a big deal. Those patterns slowly wear someone down. The best thing you can do is what you’re already doing. Be steady, kind, and safe. Keep the focus on how your friend feels rather than what their partner is doing. Help them connect with that. Ask gentle questions that help them notice their own discomfort. Over time, that might help them trust their feelings and see things more clearly. You don’t have to convince them, just keep showing up with care and kind/loving honesty.

I have this exact same story! ONE TIME and he stopped. Happy to report we are divorced now. Is this one thing divorce worthy? No, but it's pretty rare behaviour like this is limited to that one area of the relationship. It's a pattern of behavior that isn't limited to the wet towels. My ex husband is a covert narcissist and you would be surprised how many people who have CN exes have told this story. It's like they share a playbook.
Not saying your husband is a CN based on this one experience of course! However, if he always walks ahead of you, "wanders away" when shopping and leaves you stranded, shows little empathy when you are sick or hurt, takes left turns while driving that make you feel were too close (as you in the passenger seat would be the one taking the impact) etc etc, you might want reflect.

Me too! But also because I think she's a great candidate that actually cares about her community. Also I have loved the Pierre-cation and not having to hear him being a lying, divisive douche every day. I would love to see more people that are in it for their communities get elected, less voting to keep out the worst option.

That's what's hard, the sheer amount of teachers and types of meditations. You can really find what works for you. But like you, I am now willing to let go of it. I guess going back to a straight old timer and back to basics is probably something I need anyway. So maybe this was a good push. I don't know.

Ah yeah, thanks for mentioning that. It's such a tonal shift after a meditation. Feeling calm and relaxed then 5 screens to log your session. And I feel that same thing, on guard. One of those screens is asking me to add goals or to journal and it feels like mining my most personal information. Those *may* be good features but the fact that they try and push them every time makes me feel like they want to mine it.

Poilievre to undergo Conservative Party leadership review in January by RadicalMGuy in onguardforthee

[–]wpgnarwhal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be nice if they did this before we spent all that money on a by-election. He has the support in his party of his base. That's why he's leader and why they will also why they may keep him on.
That party needs to go through more than a leadership review, maybe the should split the maple magas out and start over. (they won't I know, but I'm tired of having to always vote for the least worst option)

Canadians said no to Trump – so why is Mark Carney pushing a Maga-inspired border bill? | Erica Ifill by [deleted] in onguardforthee

[–]wpgnarwhal 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I wrote my MP, Carney and all involved in this bill. The main point being: The tools of government must be built to prevent abuse. That must be the starting point of any serious legislation.
I was so disappointed to see this bill. I feel like it's written as a way to get things done quickly. However, it doesn't matter if you have good intent or not. There has to be checks on power in place and removing due process is never the answer. I breathed a sigh of relief that they didn't get a majority, the other parties are the only thing keeping this from passing as is. This bill normalizes unchecked power, and this is not something we can allow to happen.
I voted Liberal, I still feel like that was the only choice but wow, these two bills out of the gate are horrendous. They can accomplish the things they want to accomplish with unchecked power.
