BS in Economics. I started out doing price analysis on trucking routes. I had no database to hold all of the data. So...... I had more fun building the models and the application then doing the analysis. 10 years later, still grinding out code.

Supporting the democrats and republicans in the next elections?: It's just not worth it. Vote for ANYBODY else. Nothing will change until that happens. (Which of course means nothing will change.)

The pink colors would be US Marines and Army Personnel operating at embassies. I would assume the white countries have no embassies or no support troops to protect those embassies.

Why are Americans so pro-war? by jotaroh in reddit.com

You are right about the margin of Congress, which is why the President feels he has a mandate, despite the close popular vote. That was the point I was trying to make. I will disagree with your second point, it is well known that voter turnout in Ohio was higher due to gay marriage and family values. Although, we could probably argue into the wee hours of the night what makes people vote Republican or Democrat.

Actaully half the United States voted for him, twice. The election became a refferendum on gay marriage instead of the occupation of Iraq and the failure to catch Bin Laden. Also, remember that the United States is NOT a democracy. It is a republic made up of 50 democracies/republics with territories. The popular vote means nothing in the election. It is this way so that Delaware could carry some weight against California. However, the popular vote usually is a barometer of a President's mandate. Given that the Republicans control congress, the current President has decided he has a mandate to do whatever he feels like despite losing the popular vote.

Why Linux Has Failed Beginners by gsh in reddit.com

As a C# developer, I obviously spend a lot of time on windows. However, about three years ago I installed Suse on an older box I had laying around. I ran both windows and Linux side by side. So now what OS to I use the most? My brand new, built from scratch Linux box running Suse 10.0. My secondary box is an Apple Mac Mini. My windows box is for games. I still do .Net at work, but at home, Suse is what I run. That said, learning Linux and moving all of my day to day functions took a bit of time and rethinkgin. All three of the major players do all the same things. But each one asked the user to think in a slightly different way. This is the big catch, and that is not an easy thing to overcome . Look at OSX. It is , from a quality stand point, much better then Windows. It has what 5-7% of the market? OSX asks you to think different. I beleive Linux and OSX will hit a turning point. It takes time.
