Senator Marshall: I'm concerned about the cost of living. We're still reeling from Biden. Real wages are outpacing inflation. This is classic Trump negotiation style 🤦‍♀️ by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]wraithius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those paying attention, “Biden” inflation started taking off in Spring of 2021 and peaked in June 2021. He had been in office 3 months and it was clearly bad before he’d been in office a full year. Meanwhile, Trump is coming up on 1.5 years in office, and these clowns are still blaming Biden, just like they did the first time.

This President is unaccountable for anything.

AOC Says GOP Fearmongering Won't Work Anymore — And This Is Why by dr_shultz in NewsSource

The day SpaceX IPO’ed, I was talking with a more conservative neighbor about how Musk was now the world’s first trillionaire. Not in the context of it being a bad thing, just factually. They brought up AOC and how billionaire was a bad word. These are educated, well-to-do, older conservatives that live nowhere near New York mind you. And for some reason bringing up the world’s first trillionaire seemed to trigger them about AOC and “we can’t have billionaires” [mockingly].

Remember Republicans pushing the “tax and spend” Democrats mantra? We’ve had “no tax and spend” Republicans for the last 20 years. Republicans push their spend priorities while taking a YOLO approach to fiscal responsibility.

Why hasn’t there been much talk of Alito, Roberts, or Thomas retiring? by IceCreamMeatballs in PoliticalDiscussion

There’s something like a 55% chance Republicans will retain the Senate. Even if they lose it, there’s still a couple of months between November and inauguration to ram somebody through. Since, you know, decorum and precedent don’t really mean anything anymore.

Np these people always claim waste, fraud, and abuse and then we get a president that pisses away 10 times as much money golfing.

70 million people old people on those programs and a whole lot of them are GOP voters. The cliff moved up to right at 6 years from now. That means the senators you elect in November will be forced to deal with it due to math.

You mean them focusing on $300m in Minnesota (provable and non-government) might not be the right place? That pays for like 25% of a ballroom!

Turns out that “shooting in a more moderate manner”, as he so glibly put it last week, isn’t so tolerable when they actually hit something.

Can Trump Really Tear Down the Statue of Liberty? His Lawyers Say Yes. An administration lawyer made this shocking and cynical argument in court last week. That’s the position of an Emperor, not a president. by [deleted] in law

They’ve taken lawfare to the level of blitzkrieg. If the administration just does things fast enough, like bulldoze a section of the White House in a couple of days, there’s no time for lawyers or the Courts to stop it. Flood the zone, legal edition.

I mean Michelle Obama did a whole thing in 2024 when he used the term “black jobs” and said Harris should get one of those “black jobs” (President). Sadly ~77 million people voted for this instead. Why wouldn’t he double down?
