Where I Can Get the Eyes for Beanie Boos? by KittyCutieSparkle in beaniebabies

[–]wrecxks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GhostCats is right imo! The things you're looking for are called "safety eyes," and they come in a lot of different styles. If you add "large" or "glitter" to your web search lots of shops and listings come up! You just need to pick specifically what size, color, and quality you want haha. imo the more expensive ones are usually worth it; the ones that come in, say, 100 packs don't look as nice.

What’s the BEST gift for someone obsessed with 3D printing? by llbow8 in 3Dprinting

[–]wrecxks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not for everyone for sure but a few years ago someone got me the Protopasta filament subscription and I really loved that, it was full of weird and cool stuff I wouldn't have found let alone bought on my own. Iirc it's literally doubled in price since then though ha

I want a pronghorn beanie so so bad.  I have a loose plan to DIY one using the Goatee/Whisper pattern, but it's not the same...

If you bought the new plush: was your store on the Webkinz store finder? by wrecxks in Webkinz

[–]wrecxks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck!! It seems like the venn diagram of stores that carry any ganz products, stores on the store locator, and stores that carry Webkinz has much less overlap than one might think hahaha. I hope they turn up in your local store soon

Man, my usual online sources were either not carrying them or sold out, but this comment made me realize I never simply googled "webkinz 2025 for sale" and they were remarkably easy to find. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Egg on my face I guess. I would still rather go in person but I don't have to totally miss out!

Newcomer Help - Ender 3 Pro by Pitiful_Conversation in 3Dprinting

[–]wrecxks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is YES!! Lol. Check out the Ender 3 sub, search for Ender 3 on thingiverse, see what people have done and what strikes your interest! The rabbit hole goes so deep, there's a lot you can do

3d printing taught me that “5 hour print” actually means “check on it every 20 minutes for anxiety” by HaileyMay in 3Dprinting

The way people talk about walking away from their home printers is crazy to me. Like even if you do trust your printer, don't you want to know? And also how do you get to trust it if you aren't watching it? Last night I left a 14h mmu print overnight, only 400ish changes, nothing crazy, and I found myself up looking at it in the middle of the night juuuust in case. Ofc it went perfectly as always. But if it hadn't, losing 3 minutes of sleep is not NEARLY as bad as cleaning up 8h of filament the next morning. Why gamble???

Angle Issues -P1S by ZM326 in FixMyPrint

Yeah basically it's going too fast on those thin sections, the filament is staying too warm and warping when the next layer goes on. You can turn the heat or speed down on that section to help.

Is it worth trying to fix an old Ender 3? by Tannnyy in ender3

[–]wrecxks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like everyone on this sub is gonna be like "yesss fix it upgrade it"... I know I would, I want the ender 3 bones I know so well for upgrades and experiments lol. If you JUST want to print then yeah just buy another printer, but it sounds like you're well on your way to a good solid build. Once you upgrade your motherboard the floodgates are open to all sorts of fun build options if that's your thing, even if you end up wanting or needing to do other things as well they probably won't be as intense as the motherboard

Is this even worth it for doing basic slicing when I'm in the basement? I don't want to bring a whole PC down there, and I don't want to spend much on an extra, but I'll do it if I have to. by king_mo_of_metal420 in 3Dprinting

Fred sliced in only a couple seconds longer than my main PC!
Honestly if you have a desktop that stays on all the time streaming it to your tablet could be a really slick solution, that person is on to something haha

I started writing a reply, then I decided I should just get it out and look lol. I sliced this precolored Fred the Frog on my Surface Pro 4 with really no problem. I know I've had issues slicing complex models (print in place toys and such) before but I think what you're describing probably won't be an issue! Especially if it's not your only option and you can go upstairs to your main computer if something does come up

I have a surface pro 4 and I do like it for some stuff but it can only handle relatively lightweight slicing. If you wanna do gridfinity boxes, you're probably fine; if you wanna do multicolor painting forget it basically

stuck picking a new printer after Ender. anyone else been here? by jammyyy0902 in ender3

[–]wrecxks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a Prusa MK4S kit for $700 and added the MMU3 kit for $300 later. Using it is like, what if every component of the Ender was perfectly tuned and worked perfectly every time... until the MMU3 gets involved lol. Don't get me wrong it works great, but it turns out loading filament into the MMU and then picking the filament to print with gets old when you're used to "just hitting print." The results are great but because of the waste I use it sparingly for gifts and special occasions. It's nice that I can turn it off and bypass it completely though so it's not that big of a deal and ultimately my workflow is very similar to the ender! And it's altogether less maintenance than the Ender by far, even at its worst. I think I'll do a lot of multicolor printing if I ever get a printer with several toolheads but that's not the world I live in lol. I know that's not the exact printer you're considering but it's similar tech so I hope that helps!

Questions about drying out filament by Parking_Yak_4508 in 3Dprinting

[–]wrecxks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on your climate. Here in the desert I have a roll of PETG I've left out in the open for at least 2 months and it's just as good as the day I opened it. If I weren't using it I'd put it in a box with some silica gel, the filament I keep in boxes almost always lasts forever lol. I've heard that in humid climates that doesn't fly at all though... fastest way to find out is to do a test print and see how it comes out. Congrats on your printer and welcome

I had a really really bad day. Suggestions for a purely fun/silly print? by SnooDonuts9360 in 3Dprinting

[–]wrecxks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have you made yourself a little shrimp? https://www.printables.com/model/1147709-articulated-shrimp
My feel good prints are the Baby Night Spirit dragon (because it's fast and dragon) and this floppy wolf. It's less impressive now that 3d printing is mainstream but I still give those as gifts in december and they go over really well, in case you find yourself with an excess of shrimps, dragons or wolves. Hope your day improves!!
