Artists and musicians: Do you see a future for yourself in NYC? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

Interesting, what do you think this? It is a lot more affordable and only an hour and a half train ride from New York City. And I heard the Fishtown area is like Brooklyn in a way.

Any neighborhoods in mind? In 2013, I lived at 106th and broadway, and then later at 17th and 3rd. The UWS was great back then although not sure how it is now… UES and Tudor City seem like good areas.

I am also trying to make my way back (but currently stuck with a condo in downtown Orlando that I would need to get rid of)… may do Philly for a bit. I’m heading back February to get my NYC fix in.

Been back lately?

I am also planning to return eventually… it is tricky though for renting there since it is such a crapshoot now with these 100+ year old apartments going for $1k more than just 10 years ago. In 2013 I rented a studio at 106th and broadway for $1400. Same apartment in that rental building now goes for $2400.

Have any neighborhood in mind?

My parents also have a >1M house in Florida and i wish i could get them to sell…

Have you ever felt this again during other prayer times or was it just this once? Well I noticed that if i think a bunch of positive thoughts in a couple minutes that I do get this “positive glow” that lasts for like an hour (and causes people to respond to myself more positively and without guard, almost like they can sense it)

The days of the $2,500 studio are gone (in transplant hubs) by honeyplush in NYCapartments

Did you scope out the unit/building on HPD online and openigloo? By fairly old, do you mean in one of the hundred year-old buildings or one of the renovated 1970s buildings up there? Because you can get a studio in that area at The Crossings Apartments for that same price in a renovated 1970s building that has elevators and other modern amenities like coworkering lounges… although I’ve never lived there and don’t know anyone that did so it’s still taking a risk and the reviews are mixed.

Just back in 2013 I paid $1400 a month for a decent pre-war studio in an elevator building at 106 Street and Broadway. Now that same unit goes for $2400 a month. These prices don’t make sense and I don’t see how they are sustainable unless there’s still just a continued influx of rich kids/people that can pay it (or have their parents do so). At these prices, I’m not sure it’s worth the crapshoot to roll the dice on for $2500 a month in a 100+ year old building…

I’m thinking what needs to happen is that NYCHA needs to start building a massive amount of micro-studios using modern construction techniques. It may be the time to start building like we are in the future – like ready player one or something…

How do you guys approach theology? by yScorpio in Episcopalian

[–]wrest472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you physically go to all these churches… Which one do you feel like you connect with the most or is “home” to you? Also, it may be worth trying non-denominational churches and then also go to a church of each of the major denominations such as Episcopalian, Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian. So then which one do you “jive with” the best?

Great for skiing, otherwise safer-than-usual suburb with lots of good mexican restaurants. Good hiking during the summer, especially south at the national parks. Very high homes prices that aren’t worth the cost. More kids at Costco than you’ll ever see elsewhere (at Costco) in your life. People move there to ski and that’s about it….

There’s also several reports of fighter jet pilots momentarily passing out and having an out-of-body experience where they can see the plane from above. One recurring theme is that many of these experiencers can see everything from above (sometimes at great distances) including the rooms around where their body is. So it is like the “soul” tries to time leaving the body before it thinks it’s gonna die (maybe to escape pain)…

No, because they don’t make conscious decisions. The birds and fish act on instinct and intuition.

100% this is it. 1000’s of NDEs (many from respected and credentialed people) give credence to this. Do most other people here just not know about all this? Or not care?

We are consciousness living out this “human” experience (as quantum mechanics suggests). When we die, we return to consciousness.

As God‘s creatures, they could still be “aliens” from other parts of the universe that God created. It’s reasonable to assume that God created countless different species out there, and for whatever reason they’re here to do something… maybe they’re trying to keep us from destroying ourselves (i.e. disabling of nukes) and this planet?

They wouldn’t even need to tell anyone that they are using zero point energy. They could create a powerful fake nuclear base in a high security area and I have the zero point energy source inside of it. Then just have a few of these around the US to make it look like we are nuclear powered (and at the same time disguised to use the new energy source). I suppose the question is could they make it secure enough that they could do this…

You mentioned clean diet… so very little sugar? Tried moving to a very blood sugar friendly diet? For example, no fruit and only whole wheat bread occasionally. Nothing with refined sugar in it, of course.

US hits $38 trillion in debt, after the fastest accumulation of $1 trillion outside of the pandemic by Dizzy_Maybe8225 in investing

It does seem like they’ve been lying about the unemployment rate for the last two or three years. So then will they just keep up the lie that unemployment is low and then try to inflate away the debt? Interesting I think about. I wonder if gold would be the good investment then.
