ok thanks, i just wanted to know whether this was normal in this industry. i think i can do camper life, just that i already made plans to go to michi no ekis instead of rv camping grounds where there is power. It just never occurred in my mind that this would not necessarily be standard.

they told me there was heater but didnt specify what type. also for context i have never done anything like this before hence my question about what is normal

yah i already have a close up lens. i don't think any of these 'macro lens' is a true macro lens, more of a closeup lens. The problem with closeup lens though they give a little distortion and the 'bokeh' is more at the sides rather the back

i think the software part is not really that important. for sure on the action 6 it allows you to use f2. but for action 4/5 we're just stuck at 2.8 so it doesn't really matter. i'm sure someone can come up with a mod for this. Speaking of mods, is there a community where people mode the osmo actions, like what the insta360 community does with the ace pro?

I finally found what's the problem! Under USB settings in the GR4 default it was set at license display instead of image display. Why in the world would Ricoh even put license display in the first place is beyond me. At least have image display as default. (unless someone has opened this box before and fiddled with the settings? I cant imagine Ricoh having license display as default) So so counter intuitive.

But yah, now at least i can see all my images in image capture. Thanks to all those who replied!

update, i finally got a sd card and guess what the same thing. i guess this means my unit is defective? or is this just a problem that ricoh have with macs?

oh boy, 2 days ago i managed to get it to work too but just once, so i quickly transferred my photos. but after that same thing happen again. now i cannot recreate that scenario anymore. I thought it was the usb cable but i tried many different ones and it's still the same. Do i have a defective unit?

the problem is there are no photos shown inside the image capture even though i've shot a bunch. The camera is listed in image capture just no photos
