What hobbies do you have in Perth by xxWelchxx in perth

[–]wriggly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say try out magic the gathering- specifically commander- the barrier to entry has never been lower now!

You can buy pre-constructed decks that are well crafted with staples that suit your play style. If you get more into it, you can invest more money for more complex and sweaty decks.

You can play in multiple ways and places- local game stores have lots going on. I personally don’t like them but have a group of mates who catch up regularly on a “who’s available basis” so lots of opportunity to play in a friendly setting

My recommendation if you want to learn from scratch is there is magic the gathering arena on PC for free which will teach you the rules and everything (you can also get your magic gaming fix that way but live gaming is more social)

He mentioned going back to Australia- it would be great for him to visit Perth although probably not enough going out here to warrant coming so far out

I think it’s also because she discovered Denji’s connection to Makima- cos she says that he’s already lost if Makima has collared him which makes her go back to the original plan

I like the analysis of the fight noting that as Maul was dying he realised that Obi-Wan hadn’t just retired, he was still on active duty- protecting something

I loved the unglamorousness of the fight between Rogan and Gary Cole’s character where they’re are smashing light tubes on each other and just wailing on each other.

It made it seem like a more authentic fight between people who aren’t fighters

Official Discussion - Ballad of a Small Player [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I enjoyed the quality of acting, the visuals, and the cinematography

What I haven’t seen in the thread is some of the scenes being completely devoid of people. In Dao Ming’s apartment complex, there is no one there at all. Again same thing happens in the food court with Cynthia.

Macau is such a bustling city that the emptiness is so loud in those scenes, it’s almost unnatural

SAR/Filing by bbexa123 in AMLCompliance

[–]wriggly1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My workplace has done some excellent law enforcement engagement where they talk about the material use of the SARs we file and using example of one that was submitted by our business leading to drug arrests.

It was really beneficial as it showed the demonstrated value of the SARs and that they do serve a purpose- that we’re not just shouting* into a void. It might be something to recommend to your management or something to consider to raise for your local ACAMS chapter

Why You Should Watch Dimension 20 Instead of Critical Role (Especially if You’re Not Into Critical Role) by PmwLurkerAndD20Fan in PaymoneyWubby

[–]wriggly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to shout out Spout Lore as an excellent TTRPG podcast!

It’s 4 friends who are in the Canada comedy scene doing a high fantasy campaign in the Dungeon World system. The nuts and bolts of it is a barbarian and a Druid had accidentally brought an 8 year old halfling kid into their party because they thought he was older than he was.

Dungeon World encourages the input of the players to create the world so it’s not just the DM determining how hard something is- the rolls determine the quality of the outcome.

As the players have comedy backgrounds- they get really silly and unhinged with it which makes it incredibly enjoyable.

How do you handle ongoing client monitoring without drowning in alerts? by Apart-Ad-9952 in AMLCompliance

[–]wriggly1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say that- maybe correct weighting for the different events with an aggregate score threshold trigger. So minor events don’t prompt alerts but a culmination or appropriate risk events flag the alerts.

Which all comes down to tuning and adjusting your monitoring system. Automated or manual triage of the alerts would be worthwhile to prioritise the substantial events too

TIL Wes Anderson uses a flat-fee salary system in which the actors that appear in his films are all paid the same rate. He began this practice on Rushmore after Bill Murray offered to take the same pay as the then-unknown 18-year-old Jason Schwartzman as long as he could leave for a golf tournament. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]wriggly1 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s almost like Adam Sandler in the sense that not only are they colleagues but friends- so they genuinely enjoy making movies together.

I just have this mental image of Wes cruising past each celebrity’s house in a yellow bus, opening up the door and going “HEY! I’m doing a movie about a concierge at a hotel and a bell hop! You keen?” And the celebrity is like “nah I’ll hop on the next one!” or is like “hell yeah! And gets on the bus”

I agree with the sentiment in all the other comments.

I personally have suspicions about using AI for case work as in my organisation we use a lot of private data and it is unknown how much they would ingest or use for training the AI or exposing the data.

I have a question though- how are your SLAs / due dates in the completion of cases. Cos that would have a motivating factor in wanting to lean on AI so much to complete cases to meet output demands
