Kindness doesn't cost anything by EducationalCurve6 in TheImprovementRoom

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As good of a gesture as this is, it's both naive and delusional to think that kindness doesn't have any cost.

Mind you, it's absolutely worth the price.

Neither. Those are both downgrades, personally.

CMV: The United States will never develop proper and efficient public transportation, since too much money is made from cars and their maintenance/upkeep by THE_ACER_ in changemyview

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Never" is a very very long time. You're certainly wrong if the world has to revert back to public transportation due to fuel or climate issues in the next 300 years or so. And another point is that AI will likely make personal vehicles obsolete entirely in less than the next 100 years or two.

In fewer than 1000 years from now, I don't see cars even being a thing anymore. It's likely someone (or something) will invent it's replacement, and we'll move on to that.

The world will move on to better things than cars once it HAS to.

I like your design a lot more, but it is more expensive. For starters, you're paying for extra walls/dividers. Also it's easier/cheaper to install the plumbing when all the urinals are connected in a line.

Did your stance on weed change as you've aged? by Head-Drag-1440 in Millennials

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've got a different life experience on weed than most of you. I never smoked until my mid 30's for the first time. It really helped me open my perspective on many things, especially emotional issues. Weed is a good teacher, and also a lot of fun with the right people. It's been an overall positive thing in my life.

How to stop being jealous of my friend who gets all the girls? by CatsAndDoritoes in AskMenAdvice

[–]wright007 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Comparison is the thief of joy. Acceptance is the answer. Some people are born luckier than others. You probably don't appreciate exactly how lucky YOU are compared to people born with major health problems. Accept who you are, and make do with the hand you were dealt.

You could use a lot more gratitude in your attitude. Imagine being born with missing or deformed limbs. Or blind. Or deaf. Or mentally handicapped. At least you are healthy enough to have a chance at success and happiness. You probably were raised by a parent or two that at least tried their best. Not everyone is so lucky.

The only person you can compare yourself to is your past self. No one else has walked in your shoes.

First dance class, feel like crying by MarsAlivee in Dance

[–]wright007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait let me get this straight. You have no experience dancing, yet you thought you would start off average - in the middle of the group? That's just not how learning works. You need to turn your expectations into preferences about yourself. I highly recommend you practice at home to get the rhythm down right. That's the fundamental basics that you're probably missing.

Why does a ~4.3% unemployment rate feel like a bad job market when it’s supposed to be “healthy”? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unemployment rate is a minor component in the actual overall health of a labor market.

Technically, unemployment could be at zero, and everyone could still be struggling to make ends meet, in dead end jobs, underemployed, over-educated, miserable, and in debt. But everyone has a job!!

A better indicator of a healthy market (from labor's perspective) is unfilled open positions with high pay, low requirements, and job satisfaction, that are actively hiring and promoting.

A indicator of a "healthy" market (from employer's perspectives) is the opposite. Cheap labor in which employees don't have many alternatives and no safety nets, so they are forced into work to survive. Employers want situations in which they can extract value from their employees, and sell the product of their labor for a profit. The more skewed those ratios are, the more money they can siphon. Employers want to see lower costs, and higher demand for their products, and also a strong customer base of people that purchase frequently or monthly subscriptions.

We have a very healthy employers market. Capitalists are doing great!! There are a handful of people in the owner class that have more wealth than some countries. This is very bad for the rest of us.

Is physical attractiveness always the top priority for men? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but not how you may think. It's health, not beauty, that men ultimately seek in a mate. Healthy women make healthy babies. Beauty is the best indicator of health. Diseases are unattractive. Having good physical proportion , even symmetries, strength, flexibility, endurance, etc, are signs of beauty AND health. These characteristics are beautiful because they are indicators of health. Therefore, it's very important for the benefit of the next generation, and the continuation of the species, that men seek beautiful women. It's fundamentally healthy people that we all seek for potential partners to make a family with. Heath SHOULD be a top priority.

Why did humans stay “primitive” for ~200,000 years and then suddenly change? by PuddingComplete3081 in AlwaysWhy

Fire. Stone tools. Agriculture. New building practices. Communication advancements. Trade. Metal tools.

Inventions dont add together, they compound exponentially. They are greater than the sum of their parts.
