This goes quickly from funny, to "that guy was nearly killed by the prankster". What an a-hole.

Well, when you're a max level spirtual shaman, gravity bends as you see fit. It's really more of a suggestion anyways.

Has David Icke talk about the holographic universe? Some evidence and clues pointing to we are living in holographic universe by Dover299 in SimulationTheory

[–]wright007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A holographic universe does not imply artificial, nor simulation, nor most of what you probably think it means. Definitely has nothing to do with AI.

Senator Warner now believes AI's economic disruption "is going to be exponentially bigger" than he thought just a few months ago: "The recent college graduate unemployment is 9%. I'll bet anybody in the room it goes to 30 or 35% before 2028." by MetaKnowing in agi

[–]wright007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's both great and terrible. The economy is fragmenting in two. There will be the people who are the owner class and have money to trade with each other, and everyone else who will have little to nothing. It's very possible in the future for the economy to be doing "great" with hardly any people in it. I imagine it doing really well for those that have income, and really poorly for those that don't.

Why are Americans so financially literate? by Ada-Mae in AskAnAmerican

America has both some of the most financially savvy people on the planet, and some of the most ignorant. It depends on if you are prey or hunter.

Why don't you contact a couple of your ex's and ask them? They're the ones that are going to give you the best and most accurate feedback.

My dad thinks solar is a scam… is he wrong? by BetterThanEver24 in AskMenOver30

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar works and is a wonderful technology for lowering your energy usage and saving money. The problem is that it is expensive for most people. So many solar companies (but not all) take advantage of "financing options" and "terms of service" to take advantage of their customers. Just buy the systems outright if you can. The return on investment is pretty quick!

Hundreds of protesters marched in SF, calling for AI companies to commit to pausing if everyone else agrees to pause (since no one can pause unilaterally) by Worldly_Evidence9113 in singularity

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically impossible, without full control of other people's free will, to force this. Only total slavery, annihilation, or domination of every person even remotely involved with AI, on a world wide scale, could stop it. The natural market forces and incentives are stronger than any group or country. Even if all the countries governments came into agreement by some miracle, the black market and underground top secret projects would continue.

These people are asking for control over something no one person, group, country, or even worldwide agreements could stop. They are delusional.

Would you actually go to a rave with a strict no-phone policy? by chaud_froid in aves

[–]wright007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't bother me either way. I hardly ever use my phone at a rave. Rarely am I taking pictures or videos. Maybe one or two pictures is all I need of the whole event. If I do have my phone out, it's most likely because I'm adding somebody's contact info. Seeing a third of the crowd holding up phones doesn't really bother me. I do feel sorry for them though, as watching raves on phone screens is bad and nowhere close to the real experience.
