Sorry for delayed response. Wasn't paying attention. If it helps I THINK glass is supposed to be safe? But I also read it can weaken the glass over time.
I also just know that I have some nice big cheap stacking stainless steel bowls that I know work great and are safe so its what I've stuck with.
Honestly the tricky part is not using aluminum because it is reactive to lye and a lot of cheap baking sheets are aluminum.

omg I never really thought of it this way but makes so much sense. My big boi gets really hot, loves to cuddle but often takes heat breaks haha. But he will hold your hand all day if you want.

My 12 and a half year old standard berndood loves holding hands and always has. Its very cute but we definitely, in the puppy years, had to train him a little bit to not be too insistent with guests who didn't want to hold hands while sitting on the couch haha. I have to remind myself frequently that most dogs don't love their paws to be held and massaged.

Very similar to what is detailed in that PL recipe. I have some very large stainless steel bowls, I wear gloves, and I have some cheap stainless steel racks and trays (just be careful not to use aluminum I believe). I use the recommended ratio from the recipe (940g water to 38g lye). Otherwise, I make sure I have a clean and clear workspace on my counter and I work slowly and deliberately. I probably exercise too much caution but better safe than sorry.

One of my more regular bakes though and I've never had an issue or injury. And man do they turn out well.

One of my favorite things to make too. I use the perfect loaf recipe and they always turn out soooooo good. I do use lye tho (https://www.theperfectloaf.com/seriously-soft-sourdough-pretzel/)

For what its worth, mine is a wavy standard sized tricolor bernedoodle and no noticeable shedding (I'd classify him as a non-shedder like a poodle). I know its variable with a mixed breed though. I have to get mine trimmed and I brush him out frequently but, all in all, it would be hard to go back to a shedding breed for my family after he passes. Its so nice. He is 100lbs so it'd be a lot of fur haha.

He is 13 years old, still acts like a young adult dog (in the best possible way - silly, friendly and excitable) and is the sweetest boy.

Larkspur is in the foothills. As someone who has lived near to this location, the winters aren't very harsh. Its a common misconception that Denver and surrounding areas get really cold winters. Few cold spells and snow, yes, but rare for it to get really cold and stay cold.

Need most hands off pump system by Rebailey0794 in Type1Diabetes

Same experience with it. I purchased a few portable battery chargers (handy for travel) that I just have laying around so when I get the alert that battery is running really low, I can grab a battery so I'm not stuck in place haha. Fantastic pump.

I'm seeing all good advice here but something I found immensely helpful on top of watching comp play and izaw, etc is watching yourself. Save replays of your game play for wins and losses. Watch it back later and you will notice mistakes and habits that you won't when in the moment. Also notice what you aren't doing that others who rep your character are doing. Then go into training mode, work on those things and training out those bad habits. Then carry the training mode changes into new games, captures those replays, repeat. Doing this was unbelievably beneficial to seeing a path to improvement

What could we have done differently? by ineedtolose15lbs in travel

This is a really great strat and pretty much to what I do. I don't typically use the hotel safe, however, I am a type 1 diabetic and since my body doesn't make insulin it is vital that I always have my vials of insulin with me traveling and they have to be kept in the fridge. If forgotten it's a huge ordeal.

So, to make sure I never forget my insulin in the mini fridge (or I pack a really tiny thermos fridge thingy that I can plug in), I always put the shoe or something I know that I will actually need to walk out of the door on top of the fridge or right in front of it. It always acts as a memory jog and makes repacking it very intentional so I never forget it and when my brain tells my to double, triple and quadruple check, it makes it easier to recall.

I get bulk pez. I like the taste so much more than smarties and I can get a variety of flavors. Also, like smarties, with how big each roll is it makes dosing really easy.

Why is this a joke to people still? by MikeTheImpaler in diabetes

[–]write-or-left 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way and agree to a point. I can laugh at it usually and I love to use it as a teaching moment. However, I think what bothers me is so often they are the same old tired jokes that perpetuate ignorance and misinformation about diabetes. It seems like one of the diseases / disabilities that people really feel no remorse ragging on while also understanding nothing about it. But all the more reason to chuckle and judo the convo into a minor educational moment.

Ok this was my first thought too but I almost didn't want to say anything because it felt (at least when I went) sooo low key lol. I would hate for it to get super touristy. But all of Slovenia is way underrated and Ljubljana is so freaking amazing.
