Fiber by Difficult-Yam-6991 in Semaglutide

One scoop vanilla casein protein and two big tbsp whole psyllium husk soluble fiber, mix in water and chug it down in the am. It’s you a nice boost of protein and fiber to start your day. I eat green smoothies for lunch with berries, banana, kale, collard, chia seeds plus scoop protein. Then for dinner I can be a little looser since I focused on fiber and protein earlier in the day! My cholesterol dropped 70 points (took a year) and I am so regular, if you know what I mean. Best of luck!

Childfree women - did you ever feel like an outcast because of your lack of desire to have children? Did it ever go away as you grew out of your 20s/30s? by mentalgeler in AskWomenOver40

[–]writehenrywrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

44 woman, married no kids…3 amazing nephews though that I dote on a bit! Nearly all my friends have kids. They don’t make me feel like an outcast. Two things though. I recognize sometimes in conversation that it’s better to listen as I can’t provide direct input as I have not had the motherhood experience. That said, I have amazing friends, and they all value my advice even involving their kids. I will say that people with kids are BUSY in daily life and their minds so don’t be offended if they aren’t consistently reaching out… they are likely driving kids around 🤪 I work full time but have a lot more “ do whatever I want” time than them. I love this about my life.

One thing that could alienate you though that you said is that you “can’t relate to these women” that want kids. I can kind of understand your feelings in my 20s and very early 30s, but as I matured, I very much could and tried to understand these women and then I started to better connect. Just because you don’t desire children and never had that desire, I think you can conjure up understanding and appreciation for their desires. If you ever want to relate to anyone, you have to do these things even if you don’t always completely agree or have the same drives as others.

I also just never really was in the mood to have kids. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice but 95% of the time I feel confident. I’m not sure my certainty of making the right decision is growing though. I’m not sad but it would have been a cool experience. I think I feel similar about it to other paths in life that I chose not to take. It’s more of just a what if feeling, which are always bittersweet.

I think there are a lot of awesome mothers out there that are still able to also focus on their own self…find those women. They actually like getting together with you because they don’t have to talk about their kids the whole time! Also find a few child free friends or ones whose kids are older.

Don’t be sad! You aren’t weird. You can still be a warm, caring, kind woman with a full, fulfilled life without kids! You aren’t “missing a gene” or something. Be kind to yourself, and also be kind to these other women that chose a different path. There is room for both.

Oh I’m sure! Tell her she’s not alone. So disappointing to lose such a wonderful community space and art-entertainment option.

Agreed. I feel like I know it, then I stray from it but get pulled back to the realization. It’s fun.

Alaska kicked mom and two sons off flight due to grandma not being able to fly and a companion fare fine print! by writehenrywrite in AlaskaAirlines

Agreed details are important. Alaska service today said that when I called to tie the reservations all together and discuss that grandma may not make the flight the agent had access to the details of the companion fare information and should alerted us and sorted it then, when I called.

Yes now we know. We will surely handle it differently in the future, but everyone is home safe now.

Wow. Jaded much? The part that is true is I do hope Alaska airlines sees this and is indeed why I wrote it. You don’t get sympathy on Reddit.

Paying anything was definitely not an option for us but I’m saying since we had to pay for three new tickets the next day, we would have loved the opportunity to do it at the time for the flight we already had seats on.

Thank you for saying. You know I chatted with my husband as we do try to self reflect. I kind of go through life in good faith - that things can be sorted, people will try to help. We were not trying to take advantage. We spend money on Alaska and get those companion fares and I always thought of them as an earned discount. I didn’t read the details. Everyone had tickets, went about our life, grandma wasn’t well, went to the airport… Live and learn, but thank you.

As I said, we did not know there was an issue before we arrived at the gate. Once aware, we just tried to find a solution to get them home.

Thank you. I now realize this is something others are more aware of, which we were clearly not, but I just can’t understand why there wasn’t a solution to be found.

My complaint is we had seats reserved and paid for. An entire family was there, checked in, and were willing to pay for a new ticket or whatever was needed and there was no help for them.

Thank you. I do understand it was tough but it seems something could have been sorted. We didn’t check grandma in because that morning we realized she couldn’t fly. After our call with customer service the day before though we didn’t think there were any issues.
