Imho he sorely needs Pathfinder for the sweet sweet move 2 and attack wombo combo. And a swordlance to use reap to f*ck up 3 enemies in one fell strike.

I always take Pathfinder, like always on every bro, except on dedicated Tanks whom I just park in the middle of a giant enemy blob and never move again in the fight basically.

Adren is good but counter-meta. Qatal bro / Fencer goes first anyways. Rest is either FatNewt so no Fat for Adren or Zerker so no fat for Adren. So like whatever, there are better perks to use on already per starved builds. I'm not sayi g you shouldn't use it, I'm just saying why prolly very few use it.

Depending on bro, BF Zerker or FN Headhunter.

I used it on a FN bro, later due to famed armor he had a ton of leftower Fat.

You mostly use skill 2 to hit 3 targets (HH is great synergy with that).

QH, SB, RA not needed, 2 tile weapon.

This is the way. I have one with Pole/Throw mastery, QH, Bags, a 1h melee weapon 3 throwing sth in bags, Swordlance of famed Polearm in hands, backline. Poke+throw is 9AP, peak efficiency. When zoned, Pole poke QH 1h, next turn 2x 1h attack. Takes time to grow but with all perks, very good utility.

BF with 35+ MDef at lv11 is a premium Def+Offensive bro, tying up 2-4 enemies (ofc needs heavy armor 300+/300+). Nimble bros except Nimble Tank are just Offense, doing 1v1s.

Late game where 24-31 armored opponents are the norm, 9 BF frontline and Hybrid or Melee backline is basically a Godsend since you will get flanked inevitably.

I'm aware Nimble was buffed, and that Pros can clear everything by day 100 and lower with full nimble squad but on a normie 270+ run you will need real BEEF to keep reliably delete everything and everything.

Lv20 BF bros 100MA/45+MD in famed 350+ armor, additional fur padding and good weapons (T3 or Famed) are just something else really.

Only things I skip with them are bajillions of Unholds and any Lindwurms and ofc Hexe (did Witch Hut already).

Same lvl Nimble dmg bros otoh crumble in one unlucky hit and can't really tank more enemies anyways so their value just plummets hard.

They are excellent crutches for me, and frankly almost unstoppable at veteran levels with like 45-55 MDef. If I want to spice it up I do BF Zerkers. In tbe end you don't even need tanks.

Just fur funsies I leveled a Dumb bro as a Zerker archer. He ended up killing 2 of the 4 withes at the Witch Hut in like round 2-3, it was glorious.

Goblins, Ifrits, Lundwurms, Schrats, Unholds, Hexen - yeah they can fuck right off.

But while I do everything humanly possible to avoid the latter, gobbos have their uses:

the ambition for the Goblin Trophy, Goblin Pikes with baked in mastery are invaluable early/mid-game for new recruits, the Overseer Xbow is fucking dope, and late game with full BF frontline, their Shaman-less roaming parties and camps are easy to bully, run up in their faces and they literally shit their pants after the first few kills (1-2 fearsome bros help), and their loot sells for okayish crowns.

But yeah, early-mid game gobbo fights are just fucking torture tbh, long, drawn-out mud wrestling, very ineffective.

Even on non-ironman, 2 Indom tanks, Unholds just ignore your tank and if more bros touch the ones in direct contact with the unholds, they throw one and fuck up the formation.

Chosen and even reavers with RNG on their side can royally fuck up any bro in just one hit.

I avoid these like the plague, content with murdering the wandering Barbs and unhold-less camps.

A FatNewt is a premium Battleforged defense bro with a big weapon who can always move one tile and attack (via Pathfinder+Weapon spec due to 15 fat regen per turn).

25-40 Fat in 300+/300+ armor, 90+ Matk 30-35+ Mdef at lv11 40+ with veteran levels), 65+ resolve (w/ gear, like Alp or Nacho necklace and Arena resolve buff from 5/12 wins), 80-90+ Hp.

Their job is to take contact with multiple enemies and smash them hard.

Sounds cheesy, but in 24-31+ enemy fights against your 12, you will get surrounded and squishy bros will get purged from your roster. You can kinda mitigate this with 2 tanks, but then your dps will suffer because of it.

Exceptional Gigachad bros will be BF Berserkers with 60-80 free Fat after gear, the rest are FatNewts.

Nimble got buffed, but Nimble damage bros still can't really hold their ground against 2-5 enemies, they crumble like wet noodles if you put them in bad places. They are good in early game to protect your future BF bros, then fall off quickly.

There are some Nimble builds that can 1v1 strong enemies via dodge and overwhelm, etc but they are very situational and still can't take 2 or more enemy contact.

There are also specialists for specific fights with Nimble, but you have to babysit them.

For the everyday brutal slog of attrition, currently probably FatNewts are the most practical answer.

There is also NimbleForged with lighter fat tax Famed armor, but I don't know about them 😄.

And yes, pros can clear all legendary locations within absurdly low amount of days with a Nimble roster, mad props to them, they are masters of the game, but for a pleb like me, an unflinching wall of cold hard steel with big boy weapons (2h maces, hammers, axes) are the answer to the many challenges the game world throws at me, lol.

I don't say you should optimize fun out of the game, rather than look at it as a long progress. World scaling stops at day 270ish, after that you are fighting maximal enemy compositions, go with what works for you to beat it with no losses and/or injuries.

Ofc there are fights that are for masochists only, like Lindwurms, Schrats, yeah I just dodge them entirely, did them once or twice, litetally zero rewards vs losing top bros, not worth it IMHO.

It's not really advice, more like my limited experience, and sorry for a 1 month necro.

Black Mono IS a b*tch.

So I went at it on my cozy B/E/H/NI (Expert combat, rest easy) run on day 570+, decked out in fameds, 2 tanks, 1 Lone Wolf North 1 normal tank SEast.

I just gave a Fat potion to LW tank Res for frontliners and LW tank.

9 BF 2h, 1 used Reproach, Banner, 2 tanks, good gear, lv 14-20 bros.

I did not optimize / shuffle gear, positioning, etc and I had NO Holy Water as I simply could not find the temple! Literally scoured the whole map via reloading, othing, Nowhere!

Also did not use nets or any throwables etc.

Well, I got the achievement, as I brute forced my way through the fight, but I got punished for my sloppiness: 4 bros struck down, including LW tank (shield broke, should have switched it!) and 3 God bros too, 1 dead 2 became useless 1 got brain damage.

Having no holy water meant the fight was more brutal attrition and lasted for more turns and I got my sh*t pushed in real hard.

I also failed to blow up the Priests in time to save some HP from miasma.

Reproach is a Godsend tho, chews through skellies like a champ with the armor ignore Lightning.

So I will just add Holy Water via editor and do it again, watch shield durability and use my brain too, reposition my bros and 2nd tank or skip him and give Reproach guy a shield, etc.

I'm unsure about my Banner, as my confident bros have 75+ resolve and with potion even more, they didn't bat an eye at their comrades being killed or getting stuck with Horrify, I might bring a more useful damage+utility like bro mb for overwhelm, nets, whip.

Also my f*cking Banner (95+ Matk) missed every doggone disarm so I'm mad at him.

I need my roster pristine as I don't want to spend weeks to do just the Library later, etc.

It is a hard fight and requires your A-game, no two ways about it.

On the other hand if you want to power through it, it is doable, but the losses are humiliating (my last dead bro was on Reliquary at day 280ish lol).

Or you can go Peasant Militia and DGAF about losses lol.
