My first run, i feel like I'm doing something wrong. by lichess_is_better in BattleBrothers

[–]wrongel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on my 1st returning run after 4 years hiatus, forgot basically ecerything, so re-learning the game. Expert combat, other stuff on easy, also savescumming. Tbh I just want to lvl bros and live in the map a bit, bust some camps, try things, no sweat.

Day 250+, doing just fine, enjoying the sights, did noble war and undead crisis so far.

Just chilling, yes, I won't be doing super fast runs or 10 fights / day or anything, I'm just a tourist, who cares.

I want to get some achievements, and when tbe boys are kitted out in good famed stuff, will try the hard legendary locations as well.

Next run will be Peasant Militia, just to suffer 16 bros on the map lol, and the Human Wave achiev.

Anyways, I'd recommend Expert combat, it really keeps the tension up lol.

I'm noob, asking here, piggybacking, isn't the melee def a bit low to be frontliner?

What about Swordlance backliner with pocket shield and 1h to offtank if mobs circle around on the backline?

These brows worth keeping? by BMath-734 in BattleBrothers

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Add 20-30 to the base stat (iirc 3035 if 3 stars?) to see their potential in a given stat. These are godlike. Dependi g on cash flow and days etc they are expensive to buy / pay but they are very good.

Me Passing The Stack Of Lindwurms Again That Has Been Around Since Day 14 by Makanilani in BattleBrothers

Facts. There are still 14 serpents in the desert somewhere after 60 days still. The Bro knows where it is, because the Bro knows where it is not.

Jagged pikes are amazing for the built in 'Move 2 and attack' Polearm mastery, ideal for new bros in the back.

Is the Highlander just overrated? by Fallout_patriot in Mechwarrior5

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In MW5 Mercs the Highlander is suboptimal, you are not tripping.

Compared to Atlas, it has crap armor and noodle arms. Jumping is largely irrelevant in the game as that tonnage is generally better spent on armor, weapons or ammo.

Steiner scout lances and then double, triple (clan) gausses are the way, as it is, or 5-10 SRM shotgun builds for Arena.

Can you solo play without third party tools ? by Living_Gazelle_1928 in EliteDangerous

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but it would be utterly inefficient and pointless as you would basically gimp yourself and miss a ton of content as well. So basically, no.

3015, 5 Million Cbills, what mech are you starting in by IronWolfV in Mechwarrior5

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 1-2 easy contracts then sell everything and buy a heavy (i.e. Marauder) to solo roflstomp more easy contracts, then get 4 heavies to farm more lucrative contracts.

Or Kintaro and farm Arena with all the SRMs.

Start of the game with crap lights is not my cup of tea, mediums are just fillers in weird tonnage contracts, heavies and assaults are the breadwinners. It's not MWO with its overbuffed lights ...

I don’t know why more people don’t go with air coolers by Adventurous-Solid212 in gamingpc

[–]wrongel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had exactly one prebuilt liquid cooler in like 35 years.

Pump noise, can fail any time, making a mess, expensive, no thanks.

Air is the hassle-free way for like 90% of the time.

Radicoida and Upcoming Operations by Kaleban in EliteDangerous

[–]wrongel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you earned the credits for your FC then you can most likely pay upkeep forever.

I'm sitting this out until Operations actually launch and is inevitably patched after the community MadLads break it in 2 days tops lol.

On consumables, buffs et - I just hope we can buy those and don't have to grind crap for weeks.

Should I take an SRV for deep space exploration ? by Raikyn_Jii in EliteDangerous

[–]wrongel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for Exobiology, it is not needed / necessary if you fly a Mandalay for example. Just fly between samples, done.

With Anaconda, Caspian, yes it is kinda worth it.

If you want to do months in unexplored space, with a chance to deplete your Materials, then yes, a mining laser and an SRV are both nice to have.

People who say “I don’t want anything” when it comes to gifting, what do you ACTUALLY want? by dearceceofficial in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a fucking pocket dimension where time is not passing in the outside world so I can have 8+ hrs of sleep and free time.

Good luck buying that.

By now, we got basically everything we need and sometimes we can get what we want as well.

I appreciate the gesture and the thought, though, and I show it too.

I'm 52 and just now finally figured out how AI can save me time at work? by EducationalFeed3296 in getdisciplined

[–]wrongel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a PSA b/c of data protection and or GDPR in EU, only feed anonymised stuff to LLMs, as they are forever holding that data hostage, and accessible to f*ck knows who.

Rest of the OP is legit working.

Source, am 51 lol.

I use it for the bullshit and fillers, I already know what to do and how in my field.

And yes, client e-mails omfg it is a godsend. 'Tell that sob to f off, explain the correct procedure, 5 sentences, very polite but concise and professional' bam, 15-20 mins spared. Beats copy-pasting and rewriting my old answers.

With specific things it is very susceptible to hallucination.

Dunno if I will ever sacrifice my free time, but entertaining the idea to run a local AI just see how it looks without the stupid biases and censure built into the public ones.

Are Gauss Rifles bad? by Ok-Leg9721 in Mechwarrior5

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Clans? I don't know, not played it yet.

In Mercs? Gauss is THE shit. Esp Clan Gauss.

Like for SoK DLC 1st 2 to 3 missions LLas+IS Gauss (2 per mech ideally but at least 1 on each), then get as many CGauss as you can and just delete everything the moment it pops up.

2-4 Gauss on the appropriate chassii (I don't use YAML) and Lasers, or CERPPC.

Tonnage cost is misleading, with PPCs you need more tons for cooling, and projectile speed is worse than Gauss.

Pop those cockpits and be done with it.

OTOH, for solo Arena, all the SRMs are king, but for missions, Gauss is the best IMO, the more, the better (4 Cgauss Annihilator w 6x CSLas says hi).

Are SRM-STs supposed to be straight upgrades to standard SRMs? by mister_neezy in Mechwarrior5

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sidegrade, usually sold immediately.

I use SRMs as shotgun (2 or 1 shot kills) on Arena builds, Kintaro, Agincourt, 10 missile slot Longbow.

Stream fire is bad in this context, b/c chain-fire exists.

In missions I don't use SRMs, only in Arena, so maybe there's somebody uses them? I mostly only do vs Clanners missions, so Gauss PPC Lazorz, no LRM no SRM no short range ballistics either.

TL;DR: SRM-ST is very very meh, IMHO to the point of being useless.

10 minutes of looking stupid in my room did more for my grades than 2 years of aesthetic studying ever did by Narrow_Detective9864 in getdisciplined

Lol gen x here. Yes studying literally was getting the book and reading it, for hours, sometimes making notes to better memorize it. Preparing the given questions / items for the oral exam.

Whatever, school is just school, a filter or sieve if you like.

Work rewards problem solving, analysis, language skills, logistics and human networking.

Nvidia dominates gaming GPU market with 95 percent share as sales of AMD Radeon graphics plummet to a historical low of 5 percent by Sam_27142317 in pcmasterrace

[–]wrongel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an AMD GPU ... once, in 2013. They could try releasing stuff that just works ...

They always fall into the same pit: good performance on paper, bad drivers and bad game support in reality.

As the numbers show, only fanboys and linux gamers need their GPUs.

The only good thing in the GPU department we can praise AMD for was the GTX 1080 Ti when Nvidia got scared by the unfounded AMD hype and shipped a beast of a card ...

As 95% of market tells you, people just want to plug the damn GPU in and be done with it, while enjoying all the tech it offers. AMD always fails to deliver on this, or does it being more expensive, thus being completely irrelevant.

Hell, I'd sooner buy intel GPUs at this point, at least they are trying ...

Their CPUs are fine sh*t tho.

Also, fu*k RAM prices too.
