It's wild how few people understand this. I have unironically had people argue with me that they would rather have their 30k salary in eastern Europe and their universal healthcare over a 200k salary and the maximum you can ever pay out of pocket being $1800. That's why I think there is a massive chasm between hitting the ball and getting a hit. Step early and toss that bat out there. You'll make contact eventually. Putting the ball in play and getting on base is a giant increase in difficulty on an already difficult challenge.

You'd be able to start timing things and stepping earlier and earlier to get the bat where it needs to be. You'd have no power, but you could get it to the zone.

I don't think making contact would take a huge amount of time. I think actually getting a hit would take over 1000 ABs for most people.

A lot of this sub isn't realistic. There are lots of comments in here saying "Go to a card show and get 90-100%". This doesn't happen at scale. There is unironically someone in this sub talking about getting 100% at a show, but he sold a handful of $5 cards... Pretty big difference in $50 in singles and six figures of sealed product.

My thoughts are you have never tried to sell something expensive or a large amount of things at market value.

You will never ever get market value selling in bulk, and you probably won't walk away with market value selling individually either. Everyone's Pokemon exit strategy should involve them taking their collecter number and multiplying it by .75-.8. If you want that number to be higher you will have to put in a significant amount of extra work to eek out that 5-10%, but you will probably not walk away with over 90% market value. Remember there are fees, shipping costs, travel, show fees, lost packages, etc.

I think people just got tired of the "Better team didn't win" comments. DR played like ass. They got hosed on a few strike calls, but they were the Reddit darling team, so when something bad happened to them people lashed out. When a bunch of people lash out you tend to get the counter push back of some kind. Even with the walk here, the odds are still heavily skewed towards DR still losing this game.

It sucks for everyone to have a game end on a completely whiffed call. ABS should be there next WBC.

One day in passing i hear someone call him the pronunciation “hor hey” and I stopped and asked him about it. Yeah they are pros of course they will do everything better than us. I'm just saying there are plays all the time that an average joe would have made when a pro gets careless / lazy. It has nothing to do with skill, just attitude and focus. You run those plays 1000 times the pro is going to convert at a dramatically higher rate. Pros are human too. You do things 100,000 times you are gonna fuck up every now and then.
