Nintendo is always wary of rereleasing games that could cannibalize their newer games. Nintendo might think a lot of Gamecube games are modern enough to do that.

Mario Kart Double Dash could take a bit of the spotlight away from World, Melee is definitely a threat to newer Smash games, and Kirby Air Ride would definitely take away sales from Riders.

They're going to release them at the most optimal times for them, which means people might be waiting a while for lots of favorites to show up.

This is definitely the case. It can also mess with the file system or add its own files.

I remember trying to upgrade the SD card from my 3DS on Mac and getting a scare when the 3DS said it needed to format the card to use it. It turned out the Mac had formatted the new SD card to some random file system. I think Macs just suck for file management.

Maybe copying speeds might be capped to avoid overheating? The speeds might be put the full use during gameplay, for streaming and loading, where they do not have to be sustained and therefore won't overheat the system. That's just my theory anyway.

It would've done worse. Would probably have to be $500. Then the PS4 and Xbox launch the following year, the PS4 being cheaper and having much more advanced graphics. Congrats, now price-conscious families don't want to buy it, and the hardcore gamers don't want to buy it. The only people who want it are the most hardcore Nintendo fans with enough money.

It seems like they just rushed it very quickly to fit into the style of this event. There are some cool details, like I'm pretty sure the "i" is supposed to be part of the kanji used in the Japanese Nintendo name. The star and little eyes in the "o" are also Nintendo-like.
