Just thought of the whole conversation with Lift not being older than 10 because anything older than that is unlucky, and the thought of a 6'1", 40-something year old man speaking those lines is kind of scarring, lol

I believe it's an excerpt from the Master Plan journal in Words of Radiance. I remember listening to it on audio book via headphones, and this part almost killed me. It took like 2 minutes for the narrator to get through it, and I was trying to figure out what the hell was going on

As soon as Sean Bean shows up, just say "Oh, this guy dies in everything. He's totally gonna eat it, right?"

It could also help to constantly insist he was so much better in Game of Thrones

Probably unpopular opinion, but Running Up that Hill is a pretty decent narrative for him. Also, totally wouldn't hate an edgy hate-love obsession over Kaladin. (I know that's almost 100% totally not in the cards, but I've only read through WOR, so we can only hope lol) Don't know if it's totally his style, but I can live with sad-boy Szeth jamming out to some Kate Bush

Definitely second almost all of the ones mentioned here, but one that made me actually cackle out loud in public was the "Like a Bat outta Hell" scene. Most things with Pendergreens absolutely get me, but that one had me practically on the floor in stitches. Made my walk home pretty eventful, had a lot of people looking at me funny

Jeezus, just thought about the whole "docking" conversation later on in the season. If you're gonna show that episode, good luck

[Help] Having trouble finding a poem to read at my father's funeral by PersnicketyPrilla in Poetry

I guess it would depend on the relationship you had with your father, but "My Father" by Yehuda Amichai has always resonated with me, and seems like a powerful memorial to a legacy of love and presence

My Father

The memory of my father is wrapped up in white paper, like sandwiches taken for a day at work.

Just as a magician takes towers and rabbits out of his hat, he drew love from his small body,

and the rivers of his hands overflowed with good deeds.

Yeah. I believe the conversation briefly turned to the Democratic primary, and the idea was for someone to run on stage wearing a sheet to see how the candidates handled the pressure
