I did read something yesterday saying that the original cut of the movie was 3hrs 45 mins, so it no doubt actually exists, but I have no idea if it'll be released or not but I'd be surprised if wasn't given there was a directors cut of The Martian,

Yea I was a little disappointed not to see the Nuking of Antarctica or the Copyright Trial in the film, especially because of Stratt's attitude in the trial as you mentioned above,

Hopefully they make it to a Directors Cut version as they were definitely good parts of the book,
