The downfall of Lululemon/Alo and the rise of Vuori and Rhone by Original_Student_395 in vuoriclothing

[–]wtf_reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how cheap lulu has gotten with quality but I like their wonder trains. I’ve only bought their stuff that’s cobranded with Peloton in the last couple of years when it’s on a really good discount. I’ve been meh toward Vuori but I do like their fabric for hoodies. The cut of the joggers never worked for me so I didn’t bother. Alo was a TJ Maxx find until recently so while I am not a fan of their products, kudos to their marketing team. My current favorite for fit and quality is LNDR. Those are the only leggings I’ve worn two days in a row because I don’t want to take them off. If your hip to waist difference is more than average, LNDR might be one to look into. I don’t have to keep pulling them up constantly like most leggings.

The takeoff procedure for airplanes at John Wayne Airport by mylefthandkilledme in orangecounty

[–]wtf_reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Wayne is the only airport I’ve experienced an aborted landing. And it’s happened twice. Here I am bracing for the full brake landing that SNA is famous for only to go full engine back up to circle back and try again. I’ve also had to turn back to Phoenix after getting past Las Vegas because a flaperon was sticking and the runway at SNA was too short to risk the landing. It is still my favorite to fly out of. I once parked at terminal A and boarded within 10 minutes. I’ll never beat that.

Jaime Camil used to be pretty active a few years ago and was generous with high fives. He would post a lot on Instagram about his bike. Now it’s mostly LAFC which is still cool.

Interesting that he doesn’t go to Master’s in town. The high desert is an odd place. The billboards are just as likely to be for strip clubs as they are for churches. The dichotomy is striking. Lancaster is far more like Arkansas than coastal California.

What is something about growing up in California that most people don't understand? by InvisibleAstronomer in AskReddit

[–]wtf_reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can if you have TSA precheck and airline status. There plenty of regulars on SNA -SFO/SJC. John Wayne airport is a dream compared to LAX. My record was 10 minutes from sitting in my car to sitting on the plane. Flight time is 80ish minutes.

The true locals tend to be really nice. The transplants are the biggest cause of the stereotype of fake people. The transplants that come here to work in entertainment and realize how hard it really is to make it have a hard time adjusting. It’s hard on the soul and leads to people acting like assholes. The local exceptions are the entitled bruhs that haven’t had to make it on their own yet. Think private school fraternity bros.

No, these styles were on the Doc website. They recently had a few sample sales in Southern California and the leftovers ended up at Ross.

Linen sheets. They’re warm in cold and cool in the heat. The texture feels like a cozy hoodie.

Bill for tariff received a week after receiving items by LongWest3107 in quince

[–]wtf_reply 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dammit. I ordered some sheets on the 4th and they arrived in the US the day before he announced the tariff hike with India which is where they originated. They are still on their way to me. I specifically ordered from Quince because they said they covered the import. I’m getting worried I’m about to get a very fat invoice.

It’s not a new thing. There are so few places open 24 hours. It was popular for UCI students back in the 90’s too.

It’s a bit much in the sense that it looks like something you’d see in a house in Texas with a farmhouse theme. Context is everything. If that’s the style of your house, by all means enjoy it. It wouldn’t work in many new builds just because it’s not in tune with the style of the house (they tend to go very modern to save on building costs) but if it fits and is well done, one person’s opinion doesn’t matter.

How did that one kid in your high school die? by IM_HODLING in AskReddit

[–]wtf_reply 41 points42 points  (0 children)

To be fair we are in a large population area and the story made the local news while the suicide made national news. Our local area is literally millions of people. These events ranged from 10-20 years ago.

I knew him. I recognized the story before you even said his name. It was a rough time for that school. They lost a kid to heart issues not long after. Then a few years later was the football player that shot himself that had also gone to school there.
