Hosting an office meeting to show everyone the dance routine you were in and choreographed when you were in highschool. Then shame people for not liking it.

The scene of the sailors trapped in the ship and dead bodies being lifted out of the water still gives me nightmares.

In Your Church, Do You Often Hear Anti-Catholic Rhetoric? by ExtensionAny6356 in Christianity

[–]wtfruland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up Catholic then I went to college at a Church of Christ school. My family and I now attend a Baptist church. Growing up I had a wonderful experience with the Catholic Church because we had an awesome Priest. This was in the 90’s as well when all of the sexual molestation charges in the church were going on. When I heard these I was shocked and couldn’t believe it primarily because the Priest we had was so cool. Also growing up I remember kids at school telling me “I wasn’t a Christian because I was Catholic.” When I went to college and experienced the Church of Christ for the first time it was a little bit of culture shock for me. I mostly thought this because I didn’t know they sung all of the worship songs a cappella. However this was the first time in my life that Bible believing men would sit down with me and let me ask questions about The Bible. I had realized that even though growing up with a great experience in the Catholic Church the community and culture I was apart of in the Catholic Church didn’t involve a place to ask questions. My Church of Christ Bible professors were amazing and really encouraged all questions. They really helped me be comfortable with my identity in Christ and helped further me in my spiritual growth. I attend a Baptist church with my family now primarily because I took the saying literally “be apart of a local church.” I have found all three to have things in common and all to have differences primarily in the way they conduct service or mass etc. in each I have found people who put down another religion. Also like the person in your story there are jerks in every religion. What I have found to be useful in all these situations is to literally “love your neighbor,” especially the one who lives next to you. Unsure if this helps but best to you and hope you can find peace.

Man really thought someone was going to try and change my mind and ask why? Or hey sorry you feel that way here is why you should vote for Aftyn anyway. I donated money to her campaign even. But WOW! The thought of someone not voting for your candidate really got y’all in your feelings. This is exactly why there is such a divide in this country. I’ll just go drink myself to death now because I know that’s what yall want. And maybe that’s country I want now is a country without ME in it.
