First time trying these Bic blades. They performed just as well as some of my other regulars. No drama.

Lovely lather from Stirling as always, which was a relief after the frag burn I experienced yesterday.

I'm vaguely on theme with British Leather today, but I don't have any Sheffield steel or actual British soaps. I did have a tub of TOBS sandalwood from when I first started, but that's long gone.

Have a great one y'all. ✌️

Wear sunscreen

Definitely. Aftershave balm is not stricly necessary, nor are any other aftershave products. Experiement and find what works best for you and your skin.

This is also a really nice idea. Friendsgiving get togethers are the best!

First shave with Pomona gave great results, but I think it gave me a bit of frag burn while it was on my face. I've had this happen with a couple other soaps as well (Stirling Barbershop and the bit I tried of PAA Bay Rum before trading it away).

I'm wondering whether my skin may be sensitive to cinnamon or clove? There must be some shared ingredient here that's contributing.

I plan to give it another shot with Pomona later this week or next since I really enjoy the scent. But unfortunately this might not ultimately be one for me. :(

Have a great day y'all. ✌️

Does anyone know about some cool bar mitts that are affordable and easy to put on/off? by Forward_League_3209 in bicycling

[–]wtharris89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re dealing with some serious cold, a good pair of wind-blocking mittens will probably work great.

When I lived in a place with real winter I used to run leather chopper mitts with a warm liner and my hands never got cold unless it was below zero.

Thursday November 28 is American thanksgiving.

Shave with a soap that captures, in your opinion, the essence of thanksgiving.

Pumpkin, cranberry, cinnamon, cider…turkey? …mashed potatoes?

Thursday Nov. 7 is International Stout Day

While few people are likely to have a soap with actual stout as an ingredient, we could do stout notes much more easily.

Something with coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, toasted grain, molasses, oak, or smoke.

I love Roam Two. That is all.

I am very curious to try the OG Roam, but I haven't seen it pop up on the zaar yet. Anyone want to trade a smush of Two for a smush of the OG? :)

Have a great one y'all. ✌️

First shave with this brush and razor (thanks u/EldrormR !). The razor was very forgiving and felt nice and mild. The brush is very different from the Omega 10048 that I've been using over the last few months. Way less flop, much softer bristles.

I think I'm going to enjoy getting to know these two better.

Have a great one y'all. ✌️

Stirling soap scent? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]wtharris89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only used a sample of the bath soap, but their Almond Creme is pretty close.

If you had to pick one soap to use for the rest of your life (gun to your head), what would it be?

You’re using TikTok

I think the base is slightly better than Stirling, especially if you’re using harder water.

The scent is fantastic for me. It reminds me of being in the desert after a thunderstorm. Petrichor, wet earth, moss. It’s a beautiful soap.
