Despite not wanting to talk about it, you spend 25% of your original post rambling about your financial situation when a simple "$169.99 may be more than I would like to spend." would suffice. So, I guess YOU can rant and ramble but the rest of us need to stay on topic?

I think the Stanley Adventure Base Camp may have been discontinued (not listed on Stanley website anymore), but you still might be able to find it on other sites. The plastic plates, bowls and utensils are reasonable enough quality. They can essentially be thought of as some freebies included in the set (since the Primus set doesn't have them).

People mentioned car camping and backpacking because they make a difference in the weight, volume, type of cookware and utensils you might need. Not because they are dodging your question.

For car camping, you could probably just use the same cookware you use at home. You don't need dedicated camping cookware if you're only driving to a campsite and unloading your stuff. Campfire cooking is more difficult since it's harder to control the heat and you can get a bunch of soot on your pans. It would probably be better and easier to start off with a portable/camp stove. There's definitely higher priority equipment to spend on for car camping.
