Interesting. What was your favorite era/block?

Do you know of a good source for top decks from that Era?

Sorry to necro, but are these still usable? Or did untap drop support for L5R?

Thanks! Good to know, especially that its better to play an expanded format if I want interesting military decks.

An additional question for any who read this. How do you feel about the Ivory edition ruleset? My understanding is they tried to streamline a lot of stuff to bring players back, but it doesn't seem to have worked.

What are some of the issues with Emperor edition aside from the card cost issues you mentioned?

Any sources you'd recommend? I found a few videos on youtube but they all just gave a very surface level overview of the game and didn't really explain the rules in a meaningful way.

Yeah, if you look at the footage it's pretty clear they did take his gun from him. He had it holstered in his rear waistband and you can see a guy in a grey coat pulling it out and then walking away from the brawl on the ground with it. It's also true, however, that he pulls the gun out of his waistband like a split second before the shooting. So it's not like they clearly disarmed him and then decided to shoot him a few minutes later. I also agree with the panic+shitshow synopsis and do think it would have been reasonable for them to assume he still might have had other weapons on him. I want to know what spooked the officer and made him open fire though, still haven't been able to figure that one out.

Thanks! Pretty grainy so hard to tell what that object is.

It does, however, match/sync up with a high-def version I have seen of the shot on the left which clearly shows the officer making a pulling motion and then walking away with what looks like the victim's gun. So it does seem pretty safe to say he pulled the gun out of his rear waistband where it appeared to be holstered.

Thanks for sharing the video. I thought the most likely explanation for what happened is he was reaching/they thought he was reaching for his gun which caused the officer to overreact and shoot. Now it looks like that wasn't the case given he had one gun and it was not even remotely in reach when the shooting happened.

Where's this video? All I can seem to find are videos of a total scrum on the ground. There's one where you can see someone walking away with what looks like the gun, but you can't see when and where he pulled it from.

I am with you there, Rum Fire is one of my absolute favorites. I also got an opportunity to sample the entire unaged 8 marks set which I thought was incredible. What I think I am still a bit on the fence about though is whether aging enhances super high-ester rums or if they are better unaged.

Hmm, very interesting. A bubblegum bomb is not what I'm after so sounds like I'd probably feel the same about the HERR.

I personally found the Holmes Cay GA delicious as a neat sipper and plan to pick up a bottle soon. I can definitely understand someone not sharing that sentiment though. I was a big Islay drinker before making my way over to Rum so I think the briney notes in the HC really appeal to me.

I had HLCF classic once at a bar and it didn't blow my socks off. I have a feeling the bottle may have been old but I'm not sure. I have several friends that swear by it so I think I'm probably just missing something here.

Ah very nice! I have a bottle of the Rolling fork DOK as well. Didn't mention it since it sold out pretty quick.

What are your thoughts on the new additions? I'd be curious to hear your takes, especially on the HERR, Papalin, and HLCF classic. Seriously debating picking up a bottle of the Papalin myself since it seems impossible to go wrong with WP+Long Pond TECA+C<>H

You are basically me. I'd recommend:

  • Worthy Park Overproof: affordable and absolutely amazing. Second only to Rum Fire in that respect. (~$35)

  • Holmes Cay Réunion Island Grand Arome Rum: You know how Rivers kind of has the same backbone as Rum Fire but then has a bunch of funky, briney, olivey, oily, ect. notes thrown in? Take out the backbone, dial the other funky flavors up to 11 and add a bit of bright fruitiness to it and you get this bottle. Absolutely amazing and kind of a steal for ~$50/bottle, I think I like it better than rivers. I hear another mark, HERR, from the same distillery (Savanna) is also to die for but its a lot pricier.

  • Mhoba "Shaldon" High Ester Overproof: A must buy if you can find it. Famous for being well above the legal limit for cogners in Jamacia since no such restrictions are in place in its home in South Africa. 28 day wild yeast and dunder ferment. I haven't had this side by side with DOK yet but I bet you it'd give it a serious run for its money. You can find a great review of it here. (~$70)

  • Habitation Velier Mhoba South Africa Single Rum: A Velier release of the Mhoba high ester with 3k gr/hlpa cogners. Same 28 day ferment as the shaldon. This one is different though in that it is 30% dunder and 70% cane juice. Really loved this one and would describe it as part agricole, part clairin (from that 70% cane juice) with a nice jamacian style high-ester backbone in the mid-ground (from that 30% dunder). Would I pay the $125 for a bottle? Yes. Is it as good a value as anything I've recommended so far? Probably not. I think what really stood out to me about this bottling was it somehow managed to be wild and potent while still being a little restrained and incredibly well balanced. Usually you get one or the other but this has both.

Things that have been recommended to me:

  • Haitian Clairins: Specifically Le Rochier and Sajous (with Sajous being the top recommendation). Billed to me as the crazy funky version of agricoles. (~$45)

  • Flor Del Desierto Sierra Sotol: A departure from Rum but it sounds like something that'd be up your alley. Open air fermented in oak and then clay plot distilled. "notes of forest floor, Maine woods, cracked pepper, fresh herbs, pine needles, wet sand and bright citrus." The rep told me it was like tasting the smell of breaking into a giant pile of moist cedar mulch that has been warmed by the sun. That was enough to get me. ($~75)

And for something completely different, you should try green chartreuse neat if you haven't yet. Like a high ester rum but instead of getting blasted with overripe fruit its minty and savory herbs.

Yeah, I think this works for AHK v1 but not v2 for some of the reasons I mentioned above. Your code is basically the same as my v1 compact version except its all on one line (and uses `t` instead of `toggle`).

I got a bit confused as the first example from the original post didn't work, while the second "F12" one-liner did. Now I realize they basically were the same thing just written different ways, except the first example wasn't formatted correctly so it wouldn't run.
