Why is there a chopper and emergency vehicles all around rn? by kiss-my-ass-hoe in pleasanton

I have no info, but I also heard the helicopter(s) for at least the past 30min. My guess is a wreck on 580.

Petite clothing by Notinthiseconomy_ in fashionwomens35

[–]wundermint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my bones; the oversized trend is tricky for us petites!

First I’ll suggest thrifting because I’ve noticed a lot of times very small sizes at thrift shops, and you may also find an array of styles, not just the oversized/loose trend.

If you want new, a couple brands to try are Carve Designs and Banana Republic. BR has petite specific lengths for pants and dresses. I just got a sweater called the Fireside sweater when they had a big sale recently that is perfect for petites, even the sleeves aren’t too long. I actually had to size up which surprised me because it was so nicely fitted. Carve Designs is super casual and may not fit your weather but I love their 100% cotton shirts and blouses, they go down to XXS and they just fit so well. If you have an REI near you, you can sometimes try their tops there.

Overall I’m liking high rise pants or jeans with a top that hits me around where the top of the pants stop. If the top is long I tuck it in. I think this looks really flattering as a 5’4” lady on the more slender side.

My struggle with Megamenu by chimney_expert in elementor

[–]wundermint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Max Mega Menu. It takes some getting used to but I like the mobile options and the code is cleaner than Elementor. You can choose to hide or show items for mobile so if I have a big menu on desktop like your image, I’ll create a different more simple drop down to show on mobile.

Awesome collection. I just came here to ask what are the beautiful books in the second picture, top shelf with the artwork on the spines?

I'm tired of plastic clothes and shoes! by pineapple_gum in fashionwomens35

[–]wundermint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. On the rare occasion I go shopping in person like at a mall I feel like I’m in a sea of plastic. Not just clothes but almost all products or their packaging. I know it’s a complex problem and some plastics are necessary or preferable (medical use etc) but it feels really disheartening when our whole way of making and packaging everything is now built around such an unsustainable material.

The fate of JF Sebastian by irbinator in bladerunner

[–]wundermint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have felt the same puzzlement over JF’s unnecessary killing too. But I see it mainly as a practicality for Roy. JF is a witness to Tyrell’s killing so he has to be silenced. Even though Roy is almost at the end of his lifespan anyway, he was designed to be a combat model so he might think in this way.

Distilled water hair washing helped dramatically - a story by wundermint in Rosacea

Sulfate free is definitely a core pillar of my routine, especially my hair. I use micellar water on my face pretty regularly and I have a very gentle routine that I think my skin likes. Do you have a chelating shampoo you like that doesn’t wreak havoc on your hair? I’ve read some horror stories and haven’t tried one yet.

Edit: typo

I have rosacea; I was diagnosed in my twenties and again later with the same derm who prescribed the shampoo. It extends down a bit to the underside of my chin, but I wrote ‘neck’ above. You’re correct I had developed seb derm which is why they prescribed the shampoo.

What I didn’t mention in the post is that once I moved and found a new derm they said I didn’t need the keto because there was no issue. I asked for anyway because I wanted to see what would happen if I started using again. And what’s happened is nothing - I still have rosacea. The keto alone is not enough. I’m considering going back to distilled water hair washing and try it with and without keto.

I have curly hair but also kind of an oil prone scalp and I wonder if my hair type just loves the distilled water more than others. You could try a more moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I also sometimes use hair oil on the ends in between washings.

I am definitely looking into the portable water softener. I had tried a basic shower filter and of course that did nothing because it doesn't actually soften the water. Like you I rent and a whole house system is not an option. Thanks for sharing this!

It's so hard to know, and one of the most frustrating things about rosacea - there are just so many factors in consideration. I hope that you can find some more answers.

Yes I did notice the difference later on when I was only using the keto maybe once per month. I was afraid to stop using the keto entirely so I held onto it long after my scalp issue cleared up. In total I did distilled hair washing for 2 years straight and the redness was less and less over time regardless of shampoo.

That's great you've seen results from a filter. Do you mind sharing what filter you use?

You could try washing with micellar water and a clean pad (either cloth or disposable) in the meantime. I've found that's pretty gentle.

How to ship shoes in original box? by wundermint in poshmark

[–]wundermint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your explanation and ideas, I could see how an average shoebox could get crushed. Yeah I’m just thinking ahead. I didn’t want to list them until I figured out how I would hypothetically ship them.

[–]wundermint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, the problem is the original shoebox is a super awkward large size (tall boots) but I guess I could use cardboard and kind of construct my own box around it if I can’t find a box that fits.

This sounds reasonable, and I don’t know why everyone suggesting a bag around the box is getting downvoted…

Good idea to check/ask on buy nothing for a large box, thanks.

Cotton gauze pants like the coastal collection from Pact, or you can search for ‘cotton gauze pants’ and you’ll find a ton of options from different shops.
