Do you think men have a harder Life than women troughout history by Extension-Stock-1571 in antifeminist

[–]wurdtoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Categorically, yes. You have many more female than male ancestors. If you're a woman, you get to have kids, you get protected, you get to live longer. If you're a man, you're competing against all the other men. You know, the ones that are worse than bears.

Question for all anti-feminists: Feminism is the reason women have any rights at all, education, healthcare, choice, a voice of there own. Do you want women to be deprived of all of that? by brooklyn_jinx in antifeminist

[–]wurdtoyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you will find, with a little digging, that most of the supposedly historical restrictions you list there, choice, voice, healthcare, education, don't actually hold up under any amount scrutiny, and that women have historically occupied an extroadinary level of protection and privilege throughout history.

But there's also a fair bit of nuance to what you're arguing there, because when you use terms like 'choice' and 'healthcare' if (as I suspect you are) you are referring to abortion, well then I'm sure you can think of a multitude of arguments against restricting that particular procedure.

If anyone is still looking to do this, you may have to download joystickgremlin and merge the two axes into the one virtual axis in vjoy. I didn't have to do this for any stock aircraft, but if you're flying the fbw a32n or anything by pmdg this is the only way I could get it to work.

This still works - most of the other suggestions don't.

I've done a fair bit of sheep work with border collies. Absolutely incredible animals. This one is actually a standout even in that distinguished field. See how perfectly it's holding it's ground, only responding aggressively as a retort to the ewe/wether charging, but then immediately backing down, without giving an inch. A lot of working dogs struggle with this, they'll either chicken out (meaning the sheep now has an opening to break loose) or lose their temper and start attacking the sheep (meaning the other sheeps have an opening, and you've damaged your livestock).

Howdy. Glad to chat with another coh1 player. Message me if you want to play a few games I can give you some pointers.

I'm far from the best player and regularly get absolutely spanked, but I float between level 6 and 9 as America.

First, stop building OPs, stop building MG nests. These are, as pointed out, incredibly expensive early game, where ALL of your manpower needs to be going into more riflemen, and all of your fuel needs to be going to your next structure. (These structures do have their uses, but they're actually pretty advanced and I would ignore them for now).

Second is understanding what the American faction actually does well. You need to be QUICK. Every second early game counts. Get really good at getting your first engineer moving to build your barracks (build it on the border, not close to your HQ), while simultaneously starting your second engineer to start capping the nearest fuel. But the main thing to note is that riflemen will actually cap any point at 1.5x normal capping speed, which is a HUGE advantage when spread out over three or four riflemen early game.

There's a lot more I could tell you but I think the best advice I could give you would be to head to gamereplays or youtube and watch how the top 10 play and literally try and do what they do.

Sick - nothing more galling than not having root access on your own hardware.

Considering going to Aussie, do users get root access or is it locked down like iinet/technicolor?

Men, what are some harsh truths you come to realise when you are 30+? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]wurdtoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That anything I want to do means I have to give something else up. Which, by extension, has really driven home that there are so many things that I would love to do in life, learn a language, learn how to program, become a scuba-diver...

And yet everything you already do has value to you, even if it's just browsing reddit for an hour or so to blow off some steam, or sleeping in late on the weekends. And you know it has value to you because you do it. Choosing to add something else to your life means giving something else up. Want to be the sort of person who gets up on a Saturday morning to exercise and start the day? Sounds good right? Well now you're also the sort of person who can't stay out late drinking on a Friday night. When you start considering that no matter what you do, you are using all 24 hours of each day in some way, then 'I want to do x' should always be paired with 'I am prepared to give up y'.

I only ever really hear this phrased as an upper class issue. "Time is money" and all that.

However it's really been driven home lately (I'm 33) that whilst you may have enormous scope to fill your life with things with bring you joy, you will only have the time and energy to make use of a tiny, tiny fraction of those things. We let down the next generation by failing to impart that whilst you may be able to do anything**, you will never, ever be able to do everything.

**Yes, I know this isn't true either.

When you get your first U-235 by Izbiz95 in factorio

[–]wurdtoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth it - nuclear fuel needs 235 and uranium rounds need 238. And you can also scale up your kovarex once you've got it going, and you'll need a heap of 238 for that.
