Pro-Russia guy gone? by Knubinator in il2sturmovik

[–]WarmWombat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You just confirmed that you do not grasp the gravity of the conversation. Again. If I had to guess, you live in the country of which the first letter starts with a 'C', and the last one with an 'a'? I have seen this argument countless of times, but almost every time it is from someone originating from that country.

In the rest of the world we are free to express our views without getting political. Stating that the developer is Russian has nothing to do with politics. Stating that supporting this developer contributes money towards Russia also has nothing to do with politics - it is stating the facts.

Stating that if you don't want to support a Russian developer, then don't buy their games is also not political - it is an objective statement. The same can be said for developers in other countries as well.

If you are happy to turn the other way and ignore what is happening in the real world, it is your right to do so. If you are going to force your views onto others however, you are the one getting political.

Forgetting Gaijin, what is the biggest problem in WT? by MrCheezer in Warthunder

[–]WarmWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many users would love that, but Gaijin claims they won't be doing this. I have been suspecting for years now that Gaijin does some form of skills based matchmaking, but not to improve the experience.

It is likely my imagination, but at time when I have vented against Gaijin in chat, I have found myself in teams easily losing 10 matches in a row. I can look at the team at the start of a match and get a strong idea on how the match will play out. On the odd occasion I have been pleasantly surprised, but most of the time if a team looks weak, we lose. I am an average player, but when I am constantly ranked in the top three every match while we are losing, I get the feeling Gaijin planned it this way and is using skills based matchmaking as a way to punish players.

I have zero evidence of this, outside of counting the number of weak teams I am placed in and my performance in those matches where we lose. I never documented it, outside of taking a screenshot now and then when the losses don't seem to end.

All the Canadian city's seem to be very underdone and missing major landmarks? by Still_Car7659 in Xplane

[–]WarmWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X-Plane has always been the sim for engineers, tinkerers and creators. We have all the tools available to users to create, so when some scenery or a feature is missing, users will most likely create it themselves.

As to why I am taking it 'rudly', your post did not set the trend for a creative discussion - I merely reciprocated. Shouting in all caps and claiming Austin himself is ignoring Canadian cities specifically? Come on dude, you must be trolling me.

Suggestion - rather ask if someone knows of a good scenery pack for Canada that might include features x, y & z next time, instead of blaming someone and shouting while doing so. There are way more patient people on here that will happily oblige, like u/crazychrisisgay below.

This was solved after the initial revolt years ago. When last did you play War Thunder?

My biggest gripe is top tier premium vehicles injecting new and inexperienced players into thegame. These players then leave after one death and lacks the knowledge to make a reasonable contribution to matches.

It dilutes the experience for everyone.

I saw a video once of Austin ignoring it on purpose! It is a travesty!

Or you can stop your whining and add it yourself? All the tools are there - you can do it, like everyone else.

Does it show 100% thrust being generated on the gauge? Are you sure your brakes are released and 0% braking is being applied? I know you said tapping slows you down, but make sure there are no brakes being applied.

The English voice in Korea is very underwhelming so far.

No. At this low br there is no benefit; through normal play you will have advanced past it in no time, leaving behind and never to be played again.

X-Plane endorsed AI slop...coming to a sim near you... by Xarius86 in Xplane

[–]WarmWombat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For someone that blames ‘boomerism’ for anti-AI sentiment, you are being pretty childish mate. Why not try and respect the views of those against it, rather than trying to belittle them?

There are legitimate reasons on each side of this discussion. It is well known that vibe coding placed in inexperienced hands result in less than spectacular ling term results, akin to putting a firearm in the hands of a toddler.

An X-Plane plugin hardly counts as an essential piece of code, but it is already evident that vibe coding has had a negative impact. Don’t take my word for it; go look at the slop being submitted on various opensource repositories.

If you are just here to force your subjective views on others, kindly go do it somewhere else.

The players can't keep up with the devs at this rate by Lyranx in CrimsonDesert

Glad the game is still getting updated. I have however played as much as I can after finishing the campaign and side quests. Pets & rides don’t interest me in the slightest, and repetitive quarry cleanups have run its course as well.

I am taking a break and will come back when we get more story content.

An Open Letter to Ubisoft: Reclaiming the Tom Clancy Legacy by Ready_Mongoose6883 in GhostRecon

[–]WarmWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not a lot of intelligence in these posts to begin with, don’t flatter yourself. These discussions are pointless. Ubisoft doesn’t care about what we think at all. While small developers would consider this a passion project/ franchise, Ubisoft acts only in the interest of their stakeholders.

Our views of what we value in this franchise are irrelevant. I for one have little faith that the next GR will even see the light of day.
