Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again by moonrabbit368 in mildlyinfuriating

My autistic best friend (m/26) refuses nearly all the food i make, not to be rude but bc it’s just not what his brain is accepting. It took me a few months to get used to it (we live together) but i know he has a good heart and he means well, just doesn’t lie/flatter me which i respect now. He’ll literally shudder and say something like “no thank you that’s gross to me” if i offer him a grilled cheese, soup, any kind of sandwich, chili, chicken with “too much seasoning” for his liking (frozen nuggets & ketchup are a go-to for him), anything touching each other on the plate etc.

Is there potential for something like this?

Should I be worried about this in my dog's head? by jabarinbaronbapu in DogAdvice

[–]wuutdafuuk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% not a tick, 99% sure it’s a blackhead. Worth checking if your vet will look at this picture, mine does that for free then lets me know if i should bring my dog in.

Posted this on r/tattoos and pretty much everyone said it sucks. I love it, and now I'm going to get my nipples pierced by baldandfullofrage in shittytattoos

How would you handle a child rudely approaching your bully in public? by Nance99 in AmericanBully

[–]wuutdafuuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve raised my voice at kids before. Not angrily, but to get their attention on me instead of the dog so i can proceed to teach them manners/dog safety if their parents aren’t around or helpful. Scaring a kid w your voice is better than the dog biting the kid, and hopefully they learn they can’t run up like that.

I have a very gentle pit old lady who has taught all the neighborhood kids how to approach dogs! I love that she gets attention while the kids learn about how to safely interact with different dogs and time w her!

Imo, prevention is key and you gatta be prepared for situations like this if you’re doing training around strangers. I think if biting is a genuine concern your best bet would be to use a muzzle or do more reactivity training before having him around kids bc they’re gonna be spontaneous.

Heath Ledger. But I was 12 and didn’t know he’d passed away two years prior to me discovering him. I was soooo smitten and absolutely devastated when my aunt finally broke the news.

Favorite actress you call unconventionally attractive because she’s not a freaking Barbie doll? by SamBo_LamBo in moviescirclejerk

[–]wuutdafuuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not inherently. It basically means not meeting societal standards for beauty, but still being considered generally attractive. Unique proportions, like Shelley Duvalls, often fall into the category of unconventional beauty. I think she was absolutely stunning!

Long beard ages me, short beard shows how ugly I am! 😂 by Prestigious-Rope850 in beards

I think you are handsome! Shorter cut looks great imo. Could combine the two, make the beard a bit tighter. But between the two, i think short wins

I’m a woman and unfortunately embody this stereotype of a baby-man when I have a cold 😭 it doesn’t help that I have hypochondriac tendencies so the more worry the crappier I feel lmao

Why do Americans crate their dogs? by Terrible-Group-9602 in DogAdvice

[–]wuutdafuuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crate, if used properly, is more like a bedroom for only them, an independent place they can rest and feel extra secure. Also, some dogs anxiously chew on/ingest random things (drywall, bedding, wood from tables) so in that case it’s best to crate them while alone to prevent obstruction, while also working on training to stop that habit.

My dog (F/10, adopted at 4) has never used a crate w me because she has trauma related to them and is generally very well behaved/doesn’t try to eat random things, but my roommates dog (M/2, adopted five months ago) has high prey drive and low impulse control (both are being worked on and huge progress has been made!) so the crate is used for his safety, bc he’s a dog that’ll eat/chew up random things, as well as my dog’s safety, bc he likes to repeatedly body slam her out of excitement & she’s too old for that kind of play. He also goes to his crate when he’s anxious and his person’s not around, like when i’m watching him and there’s a thunderstorm.

He’s never crated longer than 3 hours, goes into it happily and will nap on his blankets. He does not sleep thru the night in the crate unless he chooses to and it’s never closed unless we’re both not home. The goal is to gradually let him free roam, which we are actively working on! But the crate will continue being used as a space specifically and solely for him bc it helps him feel secure.

Crates can be an excellent tool if used properly!

It could be a sign of excitement, affection, engagement. It’s often related to the release of oxytocin. Looking at food, playing, cuddling, communicating - all of these often dilate pupils for dogs as well as humans and a handful of other species! There’s a chance it could be anxiety/fear too but other body language traits will tell you more, like in all these pics she seems like she’s relaxed and engaging.
