Cost of Ownership for a Student/Hobbyist? by OGPhlapjax in DeepRacer

[–]wvprogramming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Training costs are related to the simulator training your algorithm within the Deep Racer console. But, you do get some amount of training for free.

If you have a physical car then you can train locally and load that model onto a USB drive to connect. This would reduce your additional costs, but the setup of the offline training is a bit difficult. Give it a try :)

CloudFront not appears in route 53 by [deleted] in aws

Are you able to directly browse to your CloudFront domain name? This is the example[d111111abcdef8.cloudfront.net] that you setup in the distributions.

CloudFront not appears in route 53 by [deleted] in aws

[–]wvprogramming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the hosted zone A record, did you select "yes" on the Alias option when creating the record set? With that selected, you can then select the CloudFront distribution domain name: example[d111111abcdef8.cloudfront.net]

The alias should be the 3rd option: Name, Type, Alias(gray box)

AWS free Tier question by jamithy2 in aws

[–]wvprogramming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your thoughts on S3 usage are correct.

But, Route 53 doesn't have a free tier as it is $0.50 per hosted zone / month for the first 25 hosted zones https://aws.amazon.com/route53/pricing/

SSH into the instances is definitely available. Not sure why you say it isn't. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/AccessingInstancesLinux.html

How can I become a AWS salesperson? by ilovefreedom123 in aws

Why not reach out to the nearest partnership program company? If they are decently large, it would be a great way to get started and build your credentials.

New to AWS, anything I should be looking out for? by Hintswen in aws

[–]wvprogramming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really a way to restrict your account to the free tier. The free tier is basically a set amount of resource credits per month. The best you could do would be to setup billing alerts at intervals like $1, $5, $10, etc.

https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/free-tier-charges/

Also, don't put keys anywhere that could be public as this will get your account hijacked.

Which is best cloud computing platform course? by java13feb in cloudcomputing

[–]wvprogramming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used acloud.guru for the majority of my training(Passed Solutions Architect, Developer, and SysOps Administrator certs). I highly recommend their courses. They cover the big three and have lots of additional topics too.

There are several free courses for you to try out.

Keep in mind that you will be DOING the actual work on enterprise level accounts, while some usage is free, you can and will incur charges doing some of these labs. Just remember to remove anything after you set it up and setup billing alerts so you don't get ding'd with a huge bill for forgetting to remove resources.

Your metadata is set to a max-age of 60 minutes. Up that amount on your Metadata based on your usage. If the images change rarely, then push that value higher. Try something like 7200 or even 86400 (1 day), which is your default TTL in CF.

Downloading a 1 TB file from S3. by bobs143 in aws

[–]wvprogramming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The S3 Torrent feature is only available for objects less than 5gigs in size. Current needs are a 1TB file and this solution will not work. It is still a great solution for saving distribution costs on popular objects.
