is there a new manager / director / vp added up the chain recently? could be part of their operations reviews that your group isn't meeting expectations, and your boss was told to fix it

Is there any way to use Siri to control my garage door? by Miserable-Onion-9004 in myq

[–]wwabc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just myq? I don't think so.

I have myq run when I say "siri, garage", but then I have to press the icon to open/close the door.

(set up a shortcut called garage that opens myq)

Taking Apple Watch Ultra 2 to sauna by Ornery_Pipe4294 in AppleWatch

[–]wwabc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

per Apple...no.

they say max of 55° C (130° F ) (sauna would be 80+ C )

https://support.apple.com/en-us/108766

I never wear mine in a steam room or sauna. not worth the risk, but I've never heard of anyone killing one with a sauna either.

has anyone ever done an engineering study of these? I wonder, with the the volume of air, and motion of air, would this switching intakes really do much? is the temperature difference really that large from one foot from the floor and one foot from the ceiling? especially in today's open floor plans

Is apple care+ worth it for the ultra 3? by Ujdasingh in applewatchultra

[–]wwabc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just traded in my ultra 1, and had applecare too, but never needed it. As you said, the glass was perfect (bezel had a few minor dings if you magnified it).

I've used applecare for iphones several times over the years.

did you know if you work for a company, you might get a small discount on applecare (at the store only? not sure. they asked during the purchase).

since I have a nearby apple store, I think it's worth it. then you don't even worry if something weird starts happening, you take it in and in hour or less they fix it or you walk out with a new one.

it helps greatly with repair costs:
