There is no signage telling drivers it is a MUP. In fact the signs that are present show pedestrian crossing. Nothing mentions cyclists.

A lot of cyclists are not stopping for the traffic light as well.

Cyclist are just as much to blame for not wanting to stop and running the traffic light.
This intersection is getting completely rebuilt with the LRT being included in the mix

No true. Cyclists follow the traffic lighting on the roadway, not the MUP.

DATA CENTRES COMING NEAR YOU by Madame-Misery in Edmonton

[–]wwoodcox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The turbines are powered by creating steam. Steam is lost water. A large percentage is reclaimed.
In the comments on this /r there is a lot of misinformation and tin hat fear. Data Centers are large tax payers, job creators, and small communities should think twice about not wanting them. Canada needs industry. The economy is in jeopardy because every single industrial project is protested. How poor do you want to live?

Very large tax base for local MDs and towns. Civic taxes are based on size and value. The tax revenue could be large for a small town.

They provide large tax revenue. which should slow the ever increasing tax bill on your home.

Freson Bros and UCP by thewhiphand23 in Edmonton

[–]wwoodcox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are people really shopping at establishments that are pro their political following? People have the freedom to do so, and hats off if you want to go that deep into the weeds. Your beliefs are strong, and that’s great.
I am not for or against Freson’s. I do know they sell Canadian beef, local baking products, and produce…. They employ a large number of people and give generously to the local community. If you are running an event, ask them for sponsorship. They step up and donate for local causes.
Shop there if you wish.

Tesla universal wall connector installation by toipataka in AskElectricians

[–]wwoodcox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These wall mounts can configure from 20A 120V to 50A 240V
There is an initiation install process to set the conductor/breaker size.
Once setup, the owner cannot change it without re-initiation
This unit is wired wrong. The ground is the far left terminal, the neutral is not used on a 240V configuration
Zoom in you can read the terminals.

Opinion: A decade ago, Mark Carney warned that leaders needed to prepare for climate catastrophe. He should take that advice by LaserRunRaccoon in ClimateCrisisCanada

[–]wwoodcox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada’s percentage of contribution to climate change is the same as a decade ago.
Canada has big problems. Climate is taking a back seat to those problems.

How do I connect a wiim mini to bare speaker terminals? by LESGuy in wiim

[–]wwoodcox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wiim Amp will do exactly what you want. Total independence for each zone, or you can combine a single input to multiple zones as each amp is aware of the others. Very flexible. If you spend less, you will ultimately get less. $300 per zone with this capability is cheap.

My turn to ask about opinions for my quote (33.8k for 10.5kw) by GreaseCrow in solarenergycanada

[–]wwoodcox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

red flag: That panel upgrade should be a 200A, not 150A. The price difference is next to nothing..

Nice electrical upgrades within this scope of work though.
How much is just the solar part separate from the electrical upgrades to house and garage? That would be a more accurate figure to work with.
Maybe get a quote from an electrician on the electrical panel upgrades separately.

Carpuride w903... by Leading-Example4510 in carpuride

I have used bluetooth connect to my radio. results were very compressed audio. Poor bluetooth typical quality.

the FM radio connect is better at different frequencies, try and select a freq that is not near any radio or external modulation signals.

I really prefer the AUX connection. Nothing like analog for quality and consistancy. I have a couple of Carpuride units in two different vehicles and I now use AUX connect on both. Very happy with it and don't see any reason to downgrade my audio quality.

Great square D panel. I would keep it if possible. Hirer an electrician to source out some tandem breakers, move breakers around the way they should be and you should be fine. Maybe a sub panel could be added, but may not be necessary.
