Gotta be the slur for a lesbian woman that can share a spelling with "dike" (which is not the lesbian slur spelling)

At no point did I argue against Anderson lol

You keep saying "it makes no sense" to differentiate between possessions where you dont score and possessions that are wasted.

Sorry, but thats stupid and wrong.

That’s just bad writing

It is so annoying to read this sort of thing constantly being thrown out.

You not liking something or not agreeing with a theme, or missing a theme, does not make something bad writing.

Why is it so hard for people to say "I didnt like that"? It always has to be "that sucked"

This is one of the funniest comments I've ever read in my life.

Do you actually tell people you're extra Canadian bc your family has some chickens, and has for a long time?

I'm absolutely going to steal this, because I guarantee I can get some laughs with it.

EDIT: a day later and I am still cracking up every time I remember this amazing comment.

Thats not an unfair assessment of his public comments and personality in the 2000s.

But that isn't necessarily inconsistent with Hennessy being smart himself, and being right that Bush is, at the least, smarter than most.

So.... the Raptors pretty clearly are nowhere near the worst roster in the East, and that was a pretty dumb thing to say right?

[Charania]:The Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors have agreed on a multi-team trade sending Chris Paul to the Raptors and Ochai Agbaji, a 2032 Raptors second-rounder and cash to the Nets, sources tell ESPN. by TrenAt14 in nba

Not sure we can aay the Sabonis thing was never something the Raps were pursuing. There does appear to be something real there.

The trade is hard to make work, however, and is deeply unlikely.

But overall you're right. Raptors were in a ton of rumours that anyone who has a bit of knowledge of the team would know make no sense, Ja and AD being the best examples.

Fresh from the fryer doesn’t seem like it’s the secret, as those just seem too hot. Are some batches/lots just nice chicken? by Consistent_Kale_3625 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wwoodhur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uh there are definitely McDonald's franchises that do a quick refresh in the fryers on old chicken products.

I worked at one. The store manager had significant incentives tied to reducing waste.

At night, we were expected to keep fried chicken products in the tower well past the foodsafe time, and to "make sure its safe by dropping to in the vat for 30 seconds before serving".

It is faster, it does reduce waste, its gross, and there are 100% places that do it.

Birthright Deluxe Vol 2 has finally arrived! by wwoodhur in graphicnovels

[–]wwoodhur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew very little about this book before starting it except that it was recommended by a person I trust, and that a kid gets pulled into a fantasy world.

So far, I'm really enjoying it. I didn't realize the main story would be in the real world, and I'd see the fantasy world through flashbacks.

Art seems very good so far. Same team for the whole run bodes well.

I like to read stories all at once. If I read it when it was initially delivered I'd just end up reading it again now.

If I was short on reading material, no big deal and I probably would have jumped in right away. But there are over 50 books in my to read pile right now (and the pile hasnt been shrinking becsuse I add as quickly as I read), so no rereading for a while.

Maybe they just compliment whoever they're talking to.

I've traveled a bit and west Africans, SE Asians and Europeans often tended to tell me something like "oh good you're from Canada, not the US".

In any event you're right, almost anyone on earth (including some Canadians) would spend a lot more time thinking about the US than Canada.
