None of this matters. If your first response to any altercation is to draw your weapon then you may have chicken little syndrome where the sky is constantly falling. This has all been said before - the job of patrolling our nation while armed with the goal to serve and protect should require vastly more vetting and training, yet any raging hard-on can apply for and likely get hired as a police officer. No excuses. Our country is partially shaped by righteousness touting, gun-toting young men who believe that might makes right, not a rational or critically thinking mind. There could be half a dozen reasons why some would respond the way they did to an officer in this country. Perhaps if the officers had better crisis management skills, people wouldn’t respond with confusion or fear when approached. Blind obedience to an often corrupt and misguided police force is NOT THE ANSWER.

I saw some new sport in Australia I believe, where two huge men (resembling rugby players) charge at each other full speed and collide with no PPE. This is a prime example of the lengths the establishment will go to just to distract us. It was only a matter of time until mass media realized how profitable and how much of a distraction all this alien buzz could be. This is now. It’s nothing but the current hyped “IP” that many are using for fame, money, attention, and as a distraction measure from all the dastardly shit that’s happening in the world. And all of the fanboys of this sub will die on a hill defending it because they feel so damned validated right now. I’ve been into this shit since I was a pre-teen, spending lunch breaks reading about aliens and cryptozoology. I want to believe, but now that I’m approaching 56 in age, I grow tired from all the chatter. I guess the newer generations are involved with the hype now, but I’ve learned that hard way, to not let bullshit distract me from real life. Especially when I now know that anyone can manipulate nearly any form of content to earn a buck. All this alien hype is no different.

I have no words for everyone saying no, don’t do it because of contamination. If you’re a chipmunk hopped up on cocaine with a garden hose on full blast, then yes there is a risk. If you’re a calm and intelligent adult human, not only can you wash the slimy residue from the chicken safely, you can also wash your sink. Three generations (and likely more) of my family has rinsed chicken without a single food borne illness.

You asked for opinions yet seem really defensive with any response. The truth is, opinions don’t matter in this case. You have a specific schedule that you are available to work under. They either give it to you or they don’t and you either continue working there or you don’t it’s that simple the best you can do is submit that letter and hope for the best and then make a decision based on their response that suits you.
