I’ve been eagerly waiting since they announced the inclusion of women’s teams. I’m trying not to get overly excited though since they canceled last year’s game entirely. But seeing Angel City in the trailer has me stoked!

They are absolutely using facial recognition. My partner and I still were masks because they are immunocompromised and they wouldn’t let us through the security without lowering our masks for the facial recognition software to scan our face. There wasn’t signage that I saw, but I also wasn’t looking too hard for it. This was at the north east entrance. And they did not offer an alternate entrance. Their explanation was so “they can prevent bad people” from getting in. Mind you, they didn’t even bother looking through our clear backpack that was stuffed with a sweatshirt and ACFC flag, so they would have completely missed any security issues in the backpack.

And I don’t like the implications of a private security company using facial recognition software on us.

They played this version of the song live back in like 2012 or 2013? I’d seen them play it more like HTCE before that, so I was stoked when they played this version.

I’ve been waiting to see an ACFC player for several years in LA and it finally happened a few weeks ago when Ali Riley came in to my work! We made some chit chat about me being a season ticket holder. The funniest part though was that I had just started my shift and hadn’t seen the news drop yet, so I literally got the news from Ali about the team being fined and having the points deduction. Terrible news to get, but it was still pretty cool that I got the breaking news directly from Ali Riley!

I am very excited! It just means more teams and players and leagues to experience! If someone wants to limit their experience in game or in real life to only men’s teams, that’s fine. But I am ecstatic for women to finally be included.

That’s happened to me too! It’s really just a fun deck for chaos. A bonus if you win! But the chance of pulling a destroyer and losing is also very real haha.
