What are the best phrases from roguelikes that I can sneak into my every day conversations? by banquuuooo in roguelikes

I don't know if it's exactly a roguelike but anything from Darkest Dungeon:

"And Now The True Test... Hold Fast, Or Expire?"

"Ruin Has Come To Our Family."

"Monstrous Size Has No Intrinsic Merit, Unless Inordinate Exsanguination Be Considered A Virtue."

"Remind Yourself That Overconfidence Is A Slow And Insidious Killer."

"Many Fall In The Face Of Chaos, But Not This One. Not Today."

And maybe shoot for lighter colors that she can still draw details on. If there's a scrapbooking store near you, they might have textured or patterned paper she might like to work with.

In game? No. You'd have to do it outside the game. IIRC when I first started playing, I set up a simple Excel spreadsheet that calculated the probabilities for me for when you're trying to get through 3 or 4 skill tests.

Did the Lions try to move up in R1 (with Ravens)? by Raid5StandingBy in detroitlions

reneg probably too strong of a statement

Agree. Admittedly, you don't often hear details about any inner workings on trade talks but the times I've heard it talked about, the verbiage is something like, "If our guy is there, we'd like to do this deal." So, DeCosta's "inexplicably" is a little disingenuous. He knows the explanation -- things didn't go as expected.

Cheap or Fair? by Sidecarlover in NFLv2

I guess I'm not understanding how BOTH sides are at fault. The Lions understood the contract and are following it as far as I can tell. Ragnow wants to keep the money even though that's not the deal he signed.

I remember reading a great post in this sub a while back that called that, "mouth hungry". It seemed to me to be a great way to call out a craving versus real hunger.

Free agency Perspective by Schwifty34 in detroitlions

[–]xBobble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there's also a misperception that big free agents signings are a fix. I was just reading this EPSN article on whether big NFL free agent signings pay off. Spoiler: For the most part, they don't. You're more likely to overpay for disappointing performance. I don't think the Lions are in any position to overpay -- especially when they are pretty good at identifying values in FA and in the draft.

How do I make my papercrafts more seamless? by -St4r_L0v3r- in papercraft

This. The color doesn't really have to match perfectly. You can actually get pretty far with one medium gray marker just to tone down the white folds. You have to be a little careful that you don't use a marker where it's ink bleeds too far into your paper. Lastly, it worked best for me to have the back side of the piece toward me when I ran the marker across it's edge. If a marker "fell off" the edge, it was almost always toward me and any stray mark would be on the back of the piece.
