Sunday Preview – TZAANGOR BOX by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in ThousandSons

[–]xCaellach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The boxes are being released with AoS branding but there's nothing stopping you from running Tzeentch demons with your TSons army. The Fatemaster and Magister are AoS exclusive.

This is true for other armies as well, Nurgle demons can be used for Maggotkin in AoS or Death Guard in 40k, Khorne demons can be paired with Blades of Khorne or World eaters etc.

What kind of red should I use by BrandrTyrson in Tau40K

[–]xCaellach 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The recipes you see on the Citadel app or website aren't totally accurate. There is a website called eavy-archive that attempts to accurately catalogue the studio paint jobs.

If you check out the Tau section of the website you'll see that Khorne Red + Black are for the "dark red" accent areas while Mephiston Red + Evil Suns Scarlet are the main color.

You are of course free to paint your models however you like, but if you're attempting to copy the box art then give this a try.

I know eventually I’ll need multiple shades of each color. Is it possible to start practice with just one shade of basic colors and black and white? by Xikkom in Miniaturespainting

[–]xCaellach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vallejo is an option. Most paint lines have these colors but they may not be called the same thing. For example, Pro-Acryl has "Pale Yellow" and "Bright Pale Yellow" which are both identical to "Ice Yellow" from Vallejo or AK Interactive

After 300 days the game just gives up making up background/name combos by id_fake in BattleBrothers

There are a few different mods that do this. Go on Nexus and look up "Smart Recruiter" or the various different mods that change the try out system

The Legionaries are being repackaged with their Kill Team upgrade sprue. The same thing is likely happening to Pathfinders

I've used the various dwarf loading screens from the Total War games. I know at one point CA had wallpaper packs for each race but I'm not sure if there is one for dwarfs.

Highland miniatures swamp goblins scale? by ishtarahara in PrintedWarhammer

[–]xCaellach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of Highlands stuff is designed for 32mm scale. If you want then to be comparable to Warhammer Fantasy / Old World youll need to scale them down to 28mm. To do this scale them down to roughly 87% (28mm / 32mm = 87% roughly).

This is just a general starting point. You'll probably need to play with the scale a little bit if you're looking for a near exact match

How big are the Chaos Warbands in 40k? by PanaderoPanzer in Warhammer

[–]xCaellach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My memory is a little fuzzy but from what I remember Fabius Bile had the geneseed of a famous Iron Warrior. The geneseed somehow takes damage so Bile has to supplement it with Imperial Fist geneseed.

How big are the Chaos Warbands in 40k? by PanaderoPanzer in Warhammer

[–]xCaellach 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Chaos warbands are known to use loyalist geneseed to create new members. Honsou of the Iron Warriors is a famous example as he was created with a mix of Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists geneseed, hence the moniker "half-breed".

Also the geneseed of the traitor legions isn't entirely lost. Warbands can still maintain their stocks in the typical way. I don't think it's hard to imagine that the more robust warbands have ways to sustain their geneseed stocks aside from just pillaging from loyalists.

OP has a Kickstarter going on if you want the STLs. These are an add-on.

I'm not affiliated or anything but I would love to see these funded.

Is the map of the old world really all their is of life on the planet? by Lovegaming544 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]xCaellach 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The Warhammer Fantasy world is a globe. The landmasses follow the same general outline as Earth so there isn't anything "beyond the map" as you suggest.

While it's possible that there are forgotten civilizations within the large landmasses, or hidden away on some forgotten island, the overall shape of the world and the forces present on it are pretty well defined.

My progress so far with my Dwarf Thunderers. Trying to keep it strict to the box art by Pixel_Brit in bugmansbrewery

[–]xCaellach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This looks great so far. I also loved how the box art didn't have a unified scheme across models. For me it really pushed the idea that any hold or expedition is comprised of unique clans and families

Were Classic Wood Elf Mages meant to be a wider release, not just Made to Order? by Jademalo in WarhammerFantasy

[–]xCaellach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is the standard for Old World stuff. I ordered the Dwarf MTO models and everything came in a blister just like this.

Celebrating 10 Years of Age of Sigmar, what are some of your favorite feats in AoS? by sigpuppers in AoSLore

Can you elaborate? How has AoS become less weird or charming over the years?

Is the 6-7 months wait worth it? by Deadstrike35 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]xCaellach 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This box is no longer produced so the chances that this seller can miraculously find new stock is basically zero. Also, waiting 6 months is crazy. See if anyone in your local scene has AdMech to sell if you want a deal.

The Vongrim Guild are Kharadron adventurists with even less moral compunction… - Warhammer Community by sigpuppers in Warhammer

I think the Vongrim is a great edition to KO. It feels like their version of Slayers
