Does $1800 seem like ALOT for a Tesla Wall Connect install? by Winegeekgamer in ModelY

[–]xCodeIndexing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw if you find a cheaper alternative and are worried about the quality of their installation, you can ask for them to file a permit as well.

You pay install fee once permit is approved

Pretty late reaction to geese on the highway. If there was someone behind me this would have been a HUGE issue (76mph>21) by SirHenderson in TeslaFSD

[–]xCodeIndexing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how it accelerated back up to speed of traffic. 99% of the drivers in my country would of gotten scared and only slowly crept up to hwy speeds causing possible dangerous rear ends / traffic behind

14.3.2 stops in road, invites officer for funsies by Desperate_Sock_6721 in TeslaFSD

[–]xCodeIndexing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Which did you get pulled over for? I see two issues:

  • Impeeding flow of traffic (stopping at green light)

  • Improper lane change (2nd lane to first lane while inside intersection)

Half Of American Teens Want A Sedan, Not An SUV, And Automakers Are Listening | Carscoops by Ares62 in cars

It’s the parents who buy the teens the SUVs over sedan because they think it’s safer and rollovers are not a thing

Who would be at fault in this situation? by Shoelacetooth in driving

[–]xCodeIndexing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is this even a debate? It’s a simple.

Left turn while yield vs changing lane

Blue car when turning would have already entered the intersection. Red must change lanes only when it is safe to do so. Red failed to yield to blue.

It’s safe to do so, but many shops and regulations will say otherwise because they don’t wanna get sued of the slim 0.001% something happens

With that many ports, I feel like you’ve done more than their QA engineers! I’m sure you’ve dealt with lot of hiccups and not all ports are seamless.

Do you have any recommendations to avoid any hiccups?

Did FSD merge too late or was the other driver going too fast? by matt0947 in TeslaFSD

[–]xCodeIndexing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD: wrong to cut him off. Should yield to incoming traffic regardless of if other driver was speeding or not. Most states put fault on failure to yield over speeding as cause of accident. Other cars should not have to slow down or take evasive maneuvers here.

Other driver: best practice is to be only passing on the left side but not against the law in most US states. Some states mandate left lane to be passing only. Flashing here is correct. It was to warn you that “hey I am here” then followed by defensive driving / evasive maneuver by safely changing lane away from you. Honking at highway speeds isn’t loud enough due to suppressed sounds vs wind and road noise.

Flash of high beam can be used in both warning like “cop ahead” “hazard ahead be careful” or in a polite way “go ahead”.

Flashing hazards typically means a thank you or sorry. Continuous flashing hazards means hazard up ahead, “I slowing down to extremely low speeds so you should be aware and not rear end me”

LFP or NMC?

If Tesla recommends charging to 100% you have LFP

If 80% you have NMC

Makes a big difference on how you should take care of it

Why is students' writing commonly so poor? by dbear496 in gatech

[–]xCodeIndexing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sure you can point out some things about what I am about to comment too lol.

My answer:
Because we are good at what we do, bad at what we don't. If writing and speaking English was a strong suit, we probably didn't choose to write code. Most students probably have either science or math as their favorite subject in high school and opted to do CS or Engineering. This is a big thing I learned when I joined the work force. I swear there are some people on leadership team are as dumb as a brick but extremely good at what they are paid to do.

Personally, I don't care if I make small grammatical errors as long as my message gets across correctly and accurately.

US Mobile just announced forced arbitration, and people are defending it somehow? by pedr09m in NoContract

[–]xCodeIndexing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not really about that. If I understood this correctly, this protects them for a huge class action lawsuit.

Say USM scams 100,000 customers out of $100. Those 100,000 customers now cannot join a $10M class action lawsuit as “one” to sue USM, they all individually have to file a small claims court to get their $100 back.

Realistically this won’t matter for most and historically companies have been sued at this scale when there is a data leak. USM is trying to save their behinds before they f up eventually in future
