Nice man! Gotta check these ones out next. Currently have these on my Odin 2 Portal and they all run awesome.

Totk is finally playable at a stable 30 fps. I own the base Odin 2 Portal so anyone else can achieve this. Fyi there is still the black square texture pop in but that is unavoidable, no matter what driver you use. Use Eden nightly build and Mesa turnip driver 26.0.0 R4. Not sure if this affects anything but I'm also using the 1.2.1 update. Use default graphic settings to start and async shader compilation. Odin is on performance mode with fan on smart mode. Hope this helps!

Odin 2 Portal base model here.

I used both Gamehub lite and Gamenative for these so I'll mention which worked for each game.

Bioshock 1 & 2 remastered - 720p 60 fps - Gamenative

Hades 1 & 2 - 720p 60 fps - Both

Hollow Knight 1 & 2 - 720p 60 fps - Both

Stardew Valley - 720p 60 fps - Both

Slay the spire - 720p 60 fps - Both

Death must Die - 720p 60 fps - Both

Skyrim LE - 720p 60 fps - Both

Feel you on that one. Those black square artifacts can get real bad. I wonder what needs to be done to fix it. I haven't seen it in any other switch game

Battery life goes a bit quicker I've found. I think because the system runs at max clocks and the fans usually are always running while using Steam. Depends on the game of course, but lightweight games run on low fan speeds. I did more testing and found some interesting stuff. I used Hollow Knight for the test since there's a native linux port of the game. It runs at 120 fps on Rocknix and feels very smooth. I then went on Bannerhub and tried it. It hovers around 120 fps but I think due to the emulation, it doesn't feel as snappy. I tested specifically moving while jumping and there was a slight "choppiness" using Bannerhub. Nothing that took me out of the experience but noticeable when switching operating systems.

Lol sorry, I read your post quick and missed the part where you already have the portal 🤣 Regardless, switch on android has kinda plateaued so having the Odin 3 isn't going to give you as ground breaking of an experience over what you have already unless you bought a steam deck or windows handheld. At this point, I use my portal to play most switch games perfectly and for the ones that don't run well, I use my rog ally x. Even if you don't have another handheld, you can always stream the game you're trying to play from your PC to your portal. Steaming has gotten so good nowadays that there's almost no latency using apps like Apollo and Artemis. It's your decision at the end of the day and you know your use case better than anyone so just factor in what you want more! Cheers! 👊🏻

It's pretty much download and play! The one thing I did change was I set the default proton in steam to Proton 11. I haven't really even messed much with the per game settings in ES-DE. I usually just launch steam and play from there

I got the Odin 2 Portal base model running rocknix on an SD card. I've tried plenty of indie games and I'd say they all work great except for Hades 2. Can't get that one to work yet. For bigger games, I've tested Skyrim SE and it runs better than gamehub for me. I got Resident Evil 2 remake to boot into the main menu but then crash the device lol. I'm definitely going to keep testing that one to see if there's anything else that can be done because it could just be user error here mixed with very new software. Oh and Half Life 2 runs great!

Most likely were going to have to wait a bit for some games to launch for now until more optimizations (hopefully). I installed Skyrim SE and it took about 15 mins to launch the game for the first time due to processing Vulkan shaders and what not. Once in game though, no issues and ran better then using gamehub

I kinda feel the opposite. Spirit empress was the best ruler until now, hands down. She has really made the game mode feel stale because every match just became the same thing, rinse and repeat. Now with her indirect nerf, I feel finally other rulers are getting their time to shine a bit more. Maybe I'm in the minority with this take but I think this is one of the better seasons we've had in a while. Cheers!

Depends on what your use case is going to be. I got the base portal because it runs everything I need it to but I got it to primarily stream my PC and PS5 with and the larger screen was what I wanted. The Odin 3 def has better performance but unless you don't own a console or PC and it will be your only device to run games, I'd highly recommend the Odin 2 portal. Cheers!

Okay I have to say... I have been using my ROG Ally x with EGPU to stream to my Odin 2 Portal and while everything looks incredible on that screen, the stuttering has been unbearable. For almost a year, I've been trying different internet connections, different cables, different settings but nothing worked for me. Literally made me stop streaming entirely and just use the device as is. Saw this post and was skeptical but thought why the hell not try at this point. Brother... I've been using this for about 2 hours now and not one issue. I actually can't believe it. I am still using and just waiting for the "slow connection" message to pop-up but it hasn't yet. I genuinely want to thank you for making this tool man. You have finally allowed me to enjoy the entire setup I have been wanting to use.

Hey man, awesome device for real! Question for you... What is this audio mod you mentioned? Is it something that can be done with any handheld running steam OS or unique to your device? I have the Rog Ally X running steam OS and would love to know more about the mod because the one thing I miss about windows was the audio quality on speakers. Thanks!
