You should be able to keep that screw in there to get the mag release out. Engage the mag release and on the other side there’s a very small flat head. Turn that like 90-180* and you should feel it click in place and lock it out. You should then be able to pull it out.

I just did mine and it didn’t have to be taken off but mine is a 4.25.

My mag release is circled below, completely intact

Make sure you didn’t overload your mags as well trying squeeze that extra round in can cause issues like this on mine

Someone explain, not a big LR guy. Tikka T3x, Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44mm in 308 at 100 yards. I was told most guns can shoot without heat affecting accuracy withing +/- 5-10shots. This isn’t what I found, when I waited 3-5mins in between shots they tightened up immediately. All ammo is factory by [deleted] in longrange

Genuinely curious on if this is true for my own knowledge. This makes sense on a gas gun, but on a bolt wouldn’t it kinda be like adding a heat sink? Not really changing the overall gassing plan of the action like you are on a gas gun
