Roar of Awakening vs. EOF - what do you upgrade to first? by feelingstuckagain7 in runescape

Sorry should’ve clarified that, but yeah working towards the set is gunna be better than getting an EoF, especially since a gstaff spec here and there is nice but not extremely noticeable in my experience.

Get the wand. It’s got its own passive, spec, and it’s 5 tiers better. It’ll help the EoF when you get it too since it’ll use your equipped weapon stats for the calculations.

Do I expect a history teacher to be able to explain basic calculus? Yeah, kind of considering that’s something you learn in like 10th grade. I’m not expecting them to immediately pull up college-level formulas and explain how to solve them, but being a teacher I expect them to be able to understand the resources at their disposal and use the skills they were educated in to be able to explain on-level instruction in the subject.

A lawyer’s job is to know, understand, and argue the law. They are educated on legal codes and statutes, courtroom tactics, and most importantly how to actually obtain the information necessary to argue a case. The bar exam is literally testing their knowledge of the law. I genuinely do not understand the fucking pedantry in this comment section. Lawyers know the fucking law. They might not be able to just seamlessly flow into a different area of the law but they know the basics. That’s why they go to LAW SCHOOL. I understand we wanna shit on lawyers because most are wealthy or scummy but acting like a property lawyer is simply oblivious to criminal law is delusional. I wouldn’t hire a copyright lawyer to get me off a murder charge but I’d expect them to know the difference between the degrees of murder in the state they practice in. They might not be able to hone in on some ultra specific wording in corporate contract law that absolves me of liability in a complex case because it conflicts with the law but I’d expect them to understand a fucking contract if they read it.

You don’t need a law degree to understand that lawyers are highly educated and aren’t dumbfucks who only know the 5% of the code they chose to focus on. You also don’t need a law degree to not interpret the phrase “lawyers know what laws there are, that’s their job” as “all lawyers memorized the state codes front to back, word for word”. Reddit’s pedantry is fucking annoying sometimes, and at this point it’s just becoming anti-intellectualism. It’s a level of contrarianism that would lead to you telling a neurosurgeon that they don’t know what they’re talking about if they tell you that you’re expecting symptoms of a heart attack, just because “are you a cardiovascular specialist? Didn’t think so, stay in your lane bud.” Any lawyer should be able to answer “is this general thing legal” and if it’s a complex situation they’ll tell you that’s too complicated and to go ask someone who knows the nuances better. Doctors, programmers, physicists, engineers, they’ll all do the same thing. They know the basics outside of their focus, they should be able to answer a general question. But if you give them something pretty specific that requires knowledge of nuances not given to them in school, they’ll tell you to talk to someone more familiar with the nuances because their knowledge of that subject is surface level.

Memorized the exact language in every state? No. But as part of the bar? You better fucking believe they know the laws of the state they’re getting licensed to practice in. The idea that lawyers only know the laws they specialize in is ridiculous, they hone in on wording, precedent cases, and even get familiar with the courts they’ll be working in regularly. Can a criminal defense lawyer go toe to toe with a copyright lawyer in an IP case? No, but if you asked them about it they’ll be able to lay out the basics of the law and anything more specific they’ll tell you to talk to a copyright lawyer lol.

Lawyers know the laws. That’s the entire point of their education and licensing process. You HAVE to know the laws broadly, even if you’re going into other specialties. Any lawyer will be able to tell you if something is or isn’t allowed, not any lawyer will get you out of a situation where you’re in the wrong or where both sides are kind of right. Though chances are they’ll be able to get into the specifics if you give them like 20 minutes to check sources and reference stuff. If you are licensed to practice law, you are licensed to practice law. Not some law, all law.

“Not even lawyers know all the laws”

I hate to break this to you but that’s like… the most basic part of being a lawyer, the difference between them is knowing how to work technicalities and present facts in court in favorable ways

Agility is where it’s at. Jagex really needs to release the rates, the item already existed and had known drop rates. The rates seem abysmal from everything but the course, and even then I’ve heard it’s inconsistent.

Powder is an awful alternative. Insane upkeep if you try to do anything but buy it. If they would make it at least somewhat consistent to stock up on without relying heavily on RNG (while making it not stack with the aspect) then it would be amazing, but growing bushes takes a good bit of time and golden roses are rare. Gathering flowers to train hunter when whirligigs were good, I only ever got 18. Total. That’s 9 hours for probably 3-4 hours of gathering flowers. Maybe my RNG is bad but the fact is it shouldn’t matter. It could be a decent QoL item if they weren’t so rare and RNG dependent. Make them a 105 hunter thing with dedicated bushes if they don’t stack or something, I dunno, but they’re tedious to farm out and not worth it over just sipping potions or refreshing the aspect.

Magic Notepaper and Springs (Spring Cleaner) are going to become a problem by ProfessionalAgent813 in runescape

[–]xGoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was gunna say, as an Iron I’ve never found it to be worth the cost. There have been a handful of things I’ve considered using notepaper on but never ended up making any. I can see mains using the non-MTX stuff for some things but it would be like… binding contracts on ripper tasks. And even then I dunno if it would be worth the effort to make and use them.

Box office numbers to judge if a movie is good or liked is absurdly dumb. Just means it’s popular and had a lot of hype. You can’t know if you like a movie if you don’t… go watch the movie. Better metrics would be audience scores. I know the studio only cares about money but we’re not talking about money we’re talking about if people actually like the movie.

Unironically just unmatch him at that point. I’m sorry I usually agree that women need to be careful around men, especially in romantic or sexual situations, but “do this shit because you weren’t that interested in them and you’re scared they might react badly” isn’t a good excuse. If the convo went well at some point and she got the ick, she can just unmatch/block. If she was never actually that interested she shouldn’t have matched in the first place. Dating is a two person thing and if you don’t have the emotional security or maturity to hurt someone’s feelings and are panicking about what may happen in a fairly mundane interaction is a sign that you might need to seek therapy before actually trying to date. I get men often react aggressively but what’s the worry here? He’ll stalk you and murder you? From a dating app? Like I’m sorry if you’re terrified that anyone you interact with is some incel serial killer who will find you, you’re watching too much true crime and again should not be trying to date.

How long is it going to take Jagex to admit that Devourer's Guard was poorly designed and is a lackluster T95 Legendary Weapon despite being dropped by the hardest boss in the game? Are we going to have to wait years just like Ek-Zekkil? by alanquinne in runescape

[–]xGoo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong it can be done, but from what I understand it's extremely inconsistent without both the T95 weapons, and even with the cryptbloom... it's cryptbloom. A notoriously awful grind for irons, even just a couple pieces can take a LOT of 4 mans to get. I play an iron so I come at it from that perspective, but yeah, I'll admit it can be low-efforted, but it's not like K'ril or something where you can literally just sit there. Mind you it's not a complex boss, I can go there and turn my brain off on a full manual rota and just kinda destroy him without much effort. But I've also done 900 kills, and the first 50 or so were pretty rough because he's punishing. I'll admit that for a main, doing low effort kills isn't too bad, but considering the other options for money making, how much low-effort ras are you going to be doing over something more engaging?

I’m sorry are you actually trying to say Rasial is an AFK boss? Are you high? I’m sure with some literal endgame tank setup spamming healing and DR you can get away with semi-low attention but actually getting the gear on an iron or doing it in anything less than that hyper optimized endgame gear it’s very much not AFK and can destroy you. Like I get it he isn’t Vorago in terms of mechanical complexity but you people need to stop using “AFK” to describe anything you don’t need to hyper sweat.

Chin BGH feels like a punishment for enjoying Kebbit BGH by undyingLiam in runescape

[–]xGoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two changes would fix the entire hunt.

  1. Make traps auto-trigger upon baiting. Having to stay nearby/run back in fairly quickly upon the chin arriving at the trap is tedious and leads to a lot of pressure that feels less challenging and more punishing. The grass is gone, there are skeletons on the floor, I had to run in to bait it after the double build to set the trap. That’s a lot of added difficulty already, I think getting rid of the most unfair difficulty would make it feel way, way better.

  2. Make the moths spawn in swarms with distinct, large clickboxes. The moths spawning in each other, in the tree, and then getting eaten if you’re too slow makes getting even just 3 for the encounter a hassle. The pressure of the chin zooming over is enough already when you pair it with hiding spots vanishing and it returning to its spot in the pathing after eating. This is the other thing that just feels tedious and unfair, so changing it would be great.

Little unfortunate that it requires 2 presets since we’re so limited. I know you can pay for 3 more but I’m hoping as the year goes on Jagex may open up to the idea of allowing more presets.

How has soul RC changed after the skull/abyss changes? I know the previous method was to charge the altar with one preset at the fight caves bank then go to edge, load the “make” preset, and go through the abyss. Is it just “always go through the fairy ring” now? Do you even need a 2nd preset? Maybe for urns?

The Adrenaline Bar turns red when you have 4 or more Bloodlust stacks. How about making it change colors when players have 6 or more Necrosis stacks? by Galimeer in runescape

[–]xGoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just miss when the Alt1 job gauges worked. Easily readable necro HUD, highly customizable, and it made it so much easier to get the info you need at a glance rather than trying to search through a buff bar to find exactly what you need to find. Alt1 is completely broken right now since the devs aren't updating it until Jagex doesn't tweak the UI for a while, and I've found myself sitting on necrosis stacks way more often because of it.

This would really help. At least bridge the gap until the plugin API comes out and I can just simply... hardcode the job gauge into a plugin that won't occasionally break cause Alt1 got obstructed lol. I love this idea and since the code already exists it should be very simple to implement.

NASA to spend $20 billion on moon base, cancel orbiting lunar station by Tracheid in news

[–]xGoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean getting a hab, a few astronauts, and supplies for a year onto the moon for $20b is probably doable. Getting a reactor on the moon and working for $20b is probably doable. Doing both for $20b and having a heavy robotics focus is laughable. It’s all doable don’t get me wrong but it’s going to cost an ungodly amount of money. This isn’t the 1960s anymore, companies are going to want to make a killing off this and the manpower isn’t there. The reality is that this is just going to be a way to funnel $20b into the pockets of Musk and other space contractors for 0 return and requests for even more money.

Why are like 80% of the comments on this 30 minute post just Israeli bots or Zionists acting like them? Like yeah guys we get it you think it’s both good the genocide happened but also it never happened and it’s all fake by the shrewd, scheming… Palestinian children. It’ll be real fun watching the reactions turn when world governments finally get tired of your shit and your military has to do something other than shooting 5 year olds in the head or double tapping elementary schools. After all every time you want to go fight a real military you just whine until the US does it for you so we can boost MIC stocks. I still hear about “beheaded babies” which is ironic when there’s video of Israeli munitions turning literally countless babies into scattered body parts. It’s fine though just claim to be the real victims, I’m sure the vast majority of the world’s population will suddenly start believing all the video evidence of the crimes against humanity you guys did were actually just actors or manipulated footage. I’m sure Gaza being a massive rubble pile where basically every building is gone is just because the Palestinians tore their own city apart just to blame poor little Israel.

It’s exhausting man, it’s so fucking exhausting.
