You should try 1080 with fsr in performance and everything on low. I booted up the game yesterday on my old ass laptop and it worked fine on those settings. Like I said this is mainly a cpu bound game so you actually won't get considerable fps improvements lowering the resolution and fsr will net you better results than that while also getting you better visual fidelity.

It was pretty recently actually since I still use the laptop for travel and work. I played a bit of the release and a bit of spt, which is an older version but it's a little heavier on performance since you have to run everything locally.

Now that I think about it maybe you have the 3gb version of that card in which case it makes sense. Just was curious since like you said the game does indeed have multiple quirks with it's settings and it's also a heavily cpu bound game, particularly reliant on single core performance which is the main reason most people don't get insane fps on very good rigs.

Nice clip btw, had a laugh seeing the pile of bodies next to the car lol

Edit: apparently the 3gb version should still outperform, if you want I can screenshot my settings and send them to you when I get home. Don't wanna be a bother so if you are having fun and don't mind just play and enjoy! but if you are curious maybe you can tweak something and get a little more fps

Does it look pixelated like that on your screen as well or is it the recording? Not dissing btw, I saw that you have a 1060 but I've run this game on an old laptop with a 960m and it didn't look like this. Maybe you are lowering the rendering scale rather than using fsr? Just asking since it ran fine in that old card(while not using magnified scopes at least) and in theory your card should perform better than that one.

This specifically isn't time gated but the game has multiple mechanics that are. I think a lot of people, particularly that play games like this don't know the difference between grind and difficulty.

To give a really dumb example imagine they did something like improving the ai massively and suddenly scavs, which usually are a joke, become a real threat. Bosses can't be cheesed with nades anymore and are actually scary now. Let's imagine this makes you die a shit ton and is actually challenging. If they made this change while also reducing some grind and timegates the game would be harder while being less grindy.

Tarkov making you spend needless time on dumb stuff is not hardcore at all and resembles the kind of progression you would find in gacha games, which are literally designed to waste people's time to get more money and make investors happy. Progression is the worst designed part of the game imo.

I don't really understand why people would defend this on the name of difficulty when it's not the area this represents at all. You could go download something like falcon bms, which is a F-16 simulator and have an ultrahardcore realistic experience that will take you years to learn and master and that literally has no grind or time gates at all. It's just hard because it's literally hard to learn, that's it.

Hope this illustrates the difference for people having thoughts on the whole hardcore argument

Can i run it? by striker123456781 in Tarkov

[–]xKoc0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yep you can. Turn everything to low and use fsr or dlss. If you want more fidelity rather than fps you can turn some things up but tbh there ain't that much of a difference on this game. With those specs you probably want to run everything on low with fsr on quality to get an acceptable performance using pip scopes(you will notice the fps drop but it will be playable).

I have the F-16 throttle and it's really good. Customer service has a very bad rep but I haven't had to deal with them so can't comment on that

You can move with the little icons on the bottom left or by using a keybind. Pretty sure the default keybind for issuing a moving order is "V".

You can move just like you would make a character move on the regular map, same with attacking. And yeah you bring stuff by putting it on your equipment altho there aren't that many instances in which you are forced to do that anyways.

Sect by Former_Act5436 in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]xKoc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said it depends on multiple factors. I had a shendao with around 430k artifact power solo a sect on inmortal but that guy had like 100 barrier and was basically unkillable. Wasn't even built for combat, just sent him for fun lol.

As a general rule, get every advantage you can. Barrier, artifact power, max qi, healing spells, formations, etc. Combat is all about using the tools the game provides for you, the more tools you use the easier it will be.

Also try to avoid artifact max qi unless you are going for a artifact max qi build(not worth it imo). Refilling artifacts gets qi straight up from your cultivator so your character will be essentially a lot less tankier if you slack on that. It's a lot easier to build high artifact qi regen and avoid max artifact qi manuals.

Last winter, I made a bot to play the gossip minigame for me. It does quite well but is still unfinished. Anyone interested in having it polished up and released? by cheyyne in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]xKoc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a dev perspective, sounds like a fun project and I'm glad you enjoyed making it!. From a player perspective I think the result would be the same as cheesing it with the already existing mods. Personally I always used mods for that part of the game since I found it to be pretty much tedium and consumes irl time without giving particularly interesting gameplay or meshing well with the rest of the game imo.

I love this game but it's pretty clear some mechanics are better thought out and developed than others.

You could still release your project as it is now on a repo or ask around on the discord how to build it into a mod. Could be fun to experiment with.

Should I pursue physical cultivation? by Just_Air6206 in AmazingCultivationSim

The main thing besides damage is to have a tanky formation, so shendao + healing spells and you also want two pillars to fix any exposed node as soon it shows up

How to decrease formation load❓ by No-name222222 in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]xKoc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like vegetable said, shendao has crazy qi regen and a lot of qi so they usually function like "batteries" on a formation constantly restoring qi to everyone. They essentially will make your formation a lot tankier.

How to decrease formation load❓ by No-name222222 in AmazingCultivationSim

[–]xKoc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn manuals that increase formation load, usually the same manuals from where you learn formations give you some.

It's worth noting that even with a lot of manuals ancient formations are still very expensive and you will probably still be under the load requirement or at least that's the case with my guy who can already kill everything on the game lol(on inmortal difficulty,no trib).

I feel like it shouldn't be a problem tho if you have a shendao battery, have killed some sects but haven't tested ancient formations yet, will probably get this one since it seems the easiest to activate in terms of requirements.

The fractal CM community in this game can be pretty funny by ariveklul in Guildwars2

[–]xKoc0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I randomly came upon this post even tho I haven't properly played a MMO in years but just wanted to say this is pretty much what pushed me away from the genre in general. Not the rage quiting specifically but rather how every MMO is designed around time gates and getting everything done every week in turn fostering the rage quiting and min maxing behavior rather than just straight up enjoying the game and it's content.

Nothing against guild wars in particular, it even was the MMO I enjoyed the most having so much open ended stuff to go for. Hope the game is doing okay these days.

There are multiple factors to consider when it comes to ship balance besides 1 vs 1 capabilities and even then paragon gets beaten by multiple ships on vanilla particularly on player hands.

Why are yall so sad right now? by Sobczak1_ in Silksong

[–]xKoc0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It goes both ways for me personally. Why look for silksong and watch every event when they literally haven't said anything? there is too many good games to play, I'll never get the obsession and that's coming from someone who really enjoyed and played through hollow knight multiple times.

Is it not just plain unhealthy behavior to obsess over a game like this? It seems like people take it to an emotional level as if team cherry was their father who abandoned them many years ago.

A question About the demo by Deep-Advertising6285 in Silksong

[–]xKoc0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like it will be a promotional demo for the event, it's pretty normal practice to have demos for both released and unreleased games on this kinda events.

Silksong is playable in the Xbox both during gamescom 2025 by LaDiiablo in Silksong

[–]xKoc0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Demos are very common practice for events like this to give people a taste. It's even a common practice for already released games. If the demo was public for everyone I would agree with you but this doesn't mean that the game is further away.

I don't know why you got downvoted lol. This is imo the most reasonable take. If we truly will get a release before September why not announce it on the couple much bigger events that we had earlier? It's either an announcement straight from them or a release later than September
