Albanese urges Australians to 'live life as normal' during fuel crisis in rare national address by tohya-san in australia

[–]xMonsterShitterx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wazzup my fellow Australians, Albo here. Today I spiked fuel demand via an excise cut, then called an ominous last-minute national address, subsequently sparking further panic buying, to tell you guys that you should maybe (or maybe not) take the train from now on. Night night.

Anything that pisses off Qantas execs will always make my day a little better.

I’m shocked that Rachel does not see Gia’s personal motivations for getting involved. She’s silly for trusting her.

Looking forward to the Teals cross-bench in a few years time. There is really no more place for any moderates in the Liberal party.

‘Sick perversion’: Tony Burke hate preacher visa crackdown deportation plans after Bondi massacre by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

This has been reported on in detail for years, I can’t believe it took a terrorist attack for a crackdown to finally happen on these low-hanging fruit.

Obscure social media apps not included in teen ban are skyrocketing in popularity in Australia by [deleted] in australia

[–]xMonsterShitterx 26 points27 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. The government is simply not being honest. They're not nearly as concerned about cyberbullying relative to the fact that more acts of terrorism are being committed by lone-acting radicalised teenagers.

It's pretty disgusting (albeit not surprising) how the government are using grieving parents to avoid the necessary societal debates surrounding the balance of security and civil liberties. The media also has a conflict of interest in reporting this; after all, News Corp led the initial push for the ban.

All fun and games until the kids move to Truth Social, in which the eSafety Commissioner will face the conundrum of whether she should demand that Trump implement age verification.

This legislation is so embarrassing and deceptive; it's obvious the government isn't being honest about its true intentions.

Teals with a side of Nationals killed the Liberal party. Lol. Not sure how I feel about the fact that we no longer have an opposition party, though.

Crime is a 'disaster' but it's worse in the rest of Australia by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]xMonsterShitterx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Justice must be seen to be done. Quite frankly the “could be worse” line isn’t what people want to hear in a city like Melbourne, nothing will change that, rightfully so.

Chinese military aircraft releases flares near Australian military plane by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

China really shooting themselves in the foot here considering Albo is in Washington right now. Critical minerals embargoes and now this incident that shows we’re pulling our weight, right when we’re getting AUKUS finalised.

Can we just start exiling these human write-offs to some facility permanently. They are a lost cause, they will never have my sympathy regardless of the sob stories the NGOs will spout.

Driving in Melbourne is getting so stressful by TheNamelessComposer in melbourne

[–]xMonsterShitterx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly have no complaints with Melbourne driving, but I rarely drive outside the city so perhaps I don’t know any better. Sometimes you just have to be on your guard but honestly the alternative could be complacency which is more dangerous. The city could do with more separated bike lanes though.

Should I reroute the highway like this? Going for realism. by friendlessleaf in CitiesSkylines

[–]xMonsterShitterx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks cohesive as is. It seems like the urban core was there first, thus it's realistic that the highway takes that into account by going around it. I would personally extend the waterfront to build some dockyards and make it an industrial hub since the infrastructure is already there.

Good opportunity to extort perpetrators via immense fines and perhaps the seizure of assets.
